hi everyone...sorry if im back for this question---i just would like to ask the general public their thoughts or real experiences or facts about calling the USCIS to inquire or check the status of one's case, whether NOA2 is on its way or not...do u think that will be good? or advisable? or better not dare at all??

did anyone try to call USCIS and got NOA2 sooner than expected??

OR

did anyone try to call USCIS and was scolded by the said office and had added more torturing months from normal NOA2 timeline( ouch! :bonk: )

i heard some people tellin me their hubbies/fiances called the office..i know this is a case to case basis..but i am only curious...i hope this wont kill me like how the cat was killed for bein curious...

god bless and thank u in advance for all the replies

Call all you want - doesn't help get the petition approved - doesn't really hurt your processing either.

Unless your petition is 6-months old/older, you're simply going to get the same answer each time and take up the operator's time that might be used to help someone in real need of assistance. Free country though.

oh dear, i didn't mean to be funny...i was just trying to state the fact and i apologize if you thought i were. yes, you can try calling the USCIS but it wont do anything to make the processing quicker nor will it help your case to get approved sooner. i maybe wrong but i am basing from our own experienced. i understand your curiousity, my husband used to call them for almost everyday then but was always told to call back again...didn't help anything really...

good luck and just be patient, keep the faith high...

As other members have said it won't speed up the process but it definately won't hurt anything to call them. They don't penalize you for inquiring about the status of your case. I'd call em everyday and bug the Hell out of em, then maybe they will push your case thru just to get you out of their hair. It would probably be the first time but why not give it a shot? Good luck.

Hi LaneAndDaisy.

Their current processing time for K1/K2, K3/K4 and CR1/IR1 is 5 months across the board, regardless of which Service Center is processing it.

You are within your right to call them if 5 months has passed and you have received no response from them. You could try calling your Congressman or Senator. A number of VJ members have found them useful, especially when they have gone over the 5 month waiting period...it takes your Congressman or Senator at least a month to respond anyhow, so you may want to think about hanging back for a bit while you are still within the average processing period.

Did you register your receipt number on Case Status Service Online? If you did, the moment you are sent an RFE or an Approval Notice, you will be notified via e-mail if you activated that option on your account...they will mail the hardcopy of the notice later. Here's the website: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

My husband and I were hoping to see an approval within 60 days (like a lot of the VJ peeps who filed between January and April; we monitored their progress here constantly), but we didn't get one will 106 days (for the I-130) and 94 days (for the I-129F).

Waiting has been one of the hardest things for us to do...what drives us even more crazy is not knowing the outcome.

Thank goodness my husband and I have each other to get us through all of this (as hard and as taxing the wait and being away from each other has been, we believe this will all be worth it)...and for VJ and its supportive members. :)

Good luck with your journey.

Hi Daisy. :)

While we were waiting there were absolutely no touches on our file. VJ estimated our case to be adjudicated between September 8 and 14.

When the Last Update date did change, my husband received the e-mail notice of approval within a couple of hours. :) That was August 28...way earlier than VJ predicted.

I know it is difficult not to compare ourselves with other VJ members in terms of timelines, but we just have to hang in there.

Hope you receive a response soon.
