i don't think everything the reps/ senate passes should be expected to be signed by the pres even if all three groups are the same party. a little check/balance can be a good thing.

What would the jobless situation be today if there was no stimulus package? We do know that we would have fewer police on the streets, fewer teachers in the classrooms, fewer construction workers in employment.

Ok, the rising unemployment numbers aren't real and we can make up stats based on anecdotal stories. Let's take the stimulus package for example. It cost $787 billion and was supposed leverage a multiplier effect in the economy. "In August, the number of unemployed persons increased by 466,000 to 14.9 million, and the unemployment rate rose by 0.3 percentage point to 9.7 percent."

$787 billion divided by 14.9 million unemployed= $55,034 per unemployed worker. That doesn't take into account a lot of factors but there's no way that much money found its way to the unemployed. Even Obama's people admit they haven't obligated most of the money months after and haven't bother to fill in key positions. What are these people doing?

No cash for clunkers? Again, fewer jobs in the autmotive sector - these Japanese cars are largely manufactured in the US. Dealerships would have employed fewer people.

We're paying to destroy working cars for more fuel efficient cars. I haven't seen how much we saved on importing oil for the billions spent on the program but it did buy a few votes from fools willing to buy a new car instead of buying a cheaper used car. The program has been poorly run as car dealers were stuck with IOUs from the govt. (i.e. you and me). The car makers have raked in more money from the government based the idea they are too big to die. More corporate welfare.

Health care? We have the most inefficient system in the developed world, paying by far the most for by far the least in return, leaving millions of Americans on the outside looking in. We're being ripped off and something will need to be done to change this picture. When people are treated in lifestock stalls then you know that something is seriously wrong.

Which economists believe the recession the was caused by health care? It's was and is one of the only fields hiring. That's a bait and switch argument as the economy has functioned for decades without Obamacare. If you want livestock waitng rooms you'll love Obamacare adding in 47 more patients without adding staffing.
