I just received the necessary documents from my girlfriend recently and on her G-325 A under the birth date for her parents she has "15/12/54" and "07/12/56" when the document reads "Date of Birth mm/dd/yyyy" Has anyone ever been rejected for writing it this way. I mean I tried to type it in on my G-325 and it does not even fit. Plus when they look at her birth date is in 1985 what other day could her parents be born is not 1954. I'm looking for any advice but more specifically if someone has turned in the document like this, or been rejected for doing so. Thanks.

I have heard others doing this because of the way the document is formatted, i'm sure any NORMAL thinking adult would know they weren't born in 1854 etc...but this is a government employee and they just make movement with not much thought. So, I would print the documents and then WRITE IN the dates according to the format asked for.

But, that's just the way I roll.

Good Luck

Well for the years it's not gonna cause any arm, but I think that you guys are gonna end up having and "invalid date" for the first date and "12 July 1956" (instead of a 7 December 1956 if I understand you correctly) for the second date! Which is going to cause issues later on in the process when checking against her birth certificate with filiation (for identification and so on...) - to me it's a big risk for a RFE and a resubmission of the forms OR a rejection of the case.

Any other thoughts?

yea my bad. I reread the question and it did seem a bit misleading both parents were not born in 1954, the primary issue was two digits instead of four. ie 54 rather than 1954

Alright I got that, don't thingk it's gonna be a problem - however my other comment is that the date 15/12/54 is invalid per american standards - there is only 12 months in a year. The second one will be interpreted as 12 July 1956 instead of 07 December 1956 - which one is correct??

the date format here as you said is MM/DD/YYYY, be careful about months and days perticularly.

I've been rolling the other way. He already has the signed document. USCIS knows the century in which any beneficiary's parents were born. They do really need to fix the font problem though.

Why not just line out the date and print in pen above or below it the correct format. Initial it and you're fine.
