I've read a lot about contacting congressman or senator in case of emergency. I've contacted both and did not get immediate help. Senator's office told me that I have to wait about 4 weeks to get a response from the senator. Congresswoman's office gave me 2-3 weeks to wait. How is this helpful??? My case is with the embassy and I need some help.

Accordingg to uscis when congress makes an inquiry on your behalf, uscis has 3 days to get back to them. However, when your congressman gets back to you really depends i guess. Everytime we spoke with ours, we had an answer withing 5 days.

Mine was in action about a week after I sent the first faxed letter.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
