mad at Bank of America - RANT

I'm soooo mad at them. I went in today to get my bank letter for my affidavit of support thinking they type it right there and give it to you but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. They have to send a request to the main headquarters for it and you have to pay 20.00 per account (i have two checking accts) for them to type a freaking letter. So it supposedly takes 3 business days to process it then 7-10 days to mail it. Our interview is on the 28th of this month. Now I'm freaking out I'm not going to get it in time to send with him for his interview or if we do I'll be cutting it close. No matter what I'm going to have to spend a ####### load of money to get it to him fast in 1-3 business days. ARGH I wish I'd known they don't do it there or I'd have done it like a month ago.

Many banks are starting to charge for everything. I am with a credit union and have no plans to ever change.

awwwwwwww Chicky, I dont blame ya....I'd be hopping mad too. Do the US banks have a system like they do here in Oz where you can pay extra to have it done quicker??

I didn't ask and I'm sure I'd have gotten a big fat no. Most places wont let you pay extra for expedited anything. Its not the money that pissed me off, its the fact that they can't do anything themselves at the damn bank, ANY correspondence has to come from headquarters. Its stupid. How freaking hard is it to type a letter in word and print it on company letterhead? I could type the letter myself at home. Thats the frustrating part. Why can't they do it in the office? They aren't trusted to handle anything ?

The consular in Morocco didn't even look at the letter I provided or even the whole affidavit of support. I spent $111 to get the package to my husband before his interview. What a waste.

I seriously doubt they'll do anything to make it faster. I'm sure if I called headquarters they wouldn't have a clue what I was talking about, I dunno. ARGH Frustrating. I don't know if in Australia they would make a fuss over the letter since I have more than enough evidence of my income but I'm sure if it wasn't there they'd ask about it.

Ok if they wont expediate it by paying a fee (which I would ask about just in case they will. You never know unless you ask ), when you receive the letter fax or email a copy to Shane and put the original in the mail without having to spend big $ getting it here in a couple of days. Then IF they do want to see the original it would only be a couple of days later then would be if sent it express. Just a suggestion.

I'll call them tomorrow and ask about expediting it, but I don't know if they'll accept a faxed version of it. Maybe someone who knows will post in here (like meauxna) LOL

Was just saying that as he will require a copy of it anyway to leave with them, they may not even request to see the original. If they do he can say its coming

Exactly the same thing here. Went to Bank of America, thinking the branch manager could give me the letter, and nope call the 1-800 number, and listen to the stupid automated for about 10 min to be told ok sure, but it will take 7-14 days. But...i dont remember them saying anything about a fee. Its crazy that we trust them with our money, and pay all of their crazy fees and they do nothing for us. I dont know, but banks are becoming less and less about the customers.

Well, as long as he could get it to them by the time he will be leaving which is March 4th, he has like almost a week to get it to them before he'd need to leave. He can overnight it to them if I was able to get it to him that week and he could always go to Sydney the day before to pick up his Visa (but they have to take a day to process it right? )or give them the document and stay the night to fly out the next day though hotels are expensive........hmmmm maybe there's hope LOL We'll see I guess how long it takes.

Call them now, there phone lines are 24 hours. I also have BofA and my local branch is full of dolts. I called and requested the Immigration/Sponsor letter. They knew about it and could generate it right away. I think it cost $10 and I had it in a few days.

Why dont you scan it and email it to him when you recieve it .. then he can just download tho doc. Thats what I did for a lot of documents I had to send to my husband
