Hello!

I have a quick question about I864 form. I have the form filled out but before sending it to my husband I wanted to double check Question #21. We entered "1" for 21.a and "1" for 21.b and "0" for everything else to have the total household size as "2". But on reading this form again, I see that 21.c needs to be "1" if you are currently married.

Does this 21.c refer to an earlier marriage or the current marriage? If we add "1" here, the household size becomes "3" which is incorrect.

Sorry, I am confused about this...hopefully someone can help.

Thanks

Only concerns Current marriage! If your household is just YOU and your sponsoring your Husband, then its just 2 you and him.

Thank You!!! I have 1 more question....On Line 23, I have to enter his income. Since he is in Sales, its salary + commision. His salary is $60 K. Should I write $60 K + Bonus or just $60 K? I would just write $60 K but on 2008 his income was $62 K (which was salary + bonus) so i am not sure if the salary dropping from previous year to current will cause an issue?

I just wrote my total income for the last year. Also, it looks like you can use I-864EZ form, it's much simpler than full I-864.

Thanks! I-864EZ works for us and is much simpler. We'll use that instead. Thanks again :)

Okay, I didn't submit a choice of agent form, because we have used an attorney. He submitted a G-28 along with our I-130, so I'd imagine that got scanned in and accepted as our agent by default.

I'm sorry for being such a downer. :crying:

Bern, just giving you your daily :bonk: to see if it might bring a smile back to your face.

Hi Julie,

Should have read your posts before sending you a message as you've answered my question here.

Good luck with getting your tax return. How horrible to wait so long. My prayers are with you.

Ellen

Haha, I know the feeling. :) We're playing the "Case Complete" waiting game right now. I check the payment system 2-3 times a day and check the AVR about as much.

I also keep looking at our place and going, "God, I really want to pack!" But it's kinda silly when you don't have a clue when you'll be moving.

god i know what you mean. i have so much craaap everywhere and i want to start packing but i wont til i have my interview i guess! :D well at least interview booked!

im waiting on my NVC number too eeeee!!! but i am pretty calm now, koz i have filled out absolutely everything that needs doing.

woo hoo.

Waiting for NVC # as well here...

I have most of the forms filled out, but we are still waiting for my husband to find his passport and go to China and get his birth certificate. Apparently if you are born in China, you have to go to their office to get the official birth certificate and have it translated into English by their office. Seeing my husband is working 6 days a week 12 hours day in Hong Kong, he is trying but didn't have time to do that yet.

As we are also tight on our budget, we are just trying to do everything just in time hopefully for a January / FEbruary interview, so that I can be with him during the interview and fly back with him hopefully...I still haven't got my employement letter yet....

Oh, on the I864 form, the PDF version won't let me typed in "none" or "N/A" on certain fields, I guess I'd just have to write those in then? And I was just reading, the I864EZ form is ok also?

Though we would love to be together as soon as we can...everything just have to be put in slow motion from this moment on....at least, I am visiting him soon in November...

Good luck everyone.

still waiting on a NVC number as well...

I'm going a little crazy (sorry, going to vent a little)... I was going to make copies of my husband's passport (I'm in Pakistan with him until the interview) and I noticed that its going to expire in March- so I made him to go the passport office where they took 6 hours and charged double the fees because the passport is not expired yet (over $100)... his parents lost his original birth certificate (and they told us now) so I have to send him to get it done... I called up the IRS to order my tax transcripts and apparently my wonderful accountant (sarcasm) in New York did not file my taxes in 2008 (luckily I didn't have to pay the IRS anything because I overpaid for that year), so I got on the phone with my father back in New Jersey, had him drive to the accountants office and raise hell and get my taxes filed immediately (i lost about $1400 in my return because he was suppose to file married but filed single)....my joint sponser (amazing man helping me out) still hasn't completed his Affidavit of Support...

I'm freaking out a little, just a little bit :dead:

Still, looking forward to get this over with...

I am sorry to hear about all your troubles but dont panic and you will be able to straighten out everything. Just be calm and everything will work out fine.

On another note, have you called NVC today? Since your approval date is same as mine, I believe NVC should be able to provide you with a case number as well today.

Good Morning everyone!!

Hopefully everyone had a great long weekend! I just called NVC and was given my case number. However the NVC rep said I have to wait for 4-6 weeks to recieve some correspondence from them. I thought once the case number was assigned, I should be able to do everything via email but she would not let me giver her our email address and said I have to wait.

Can anyone please confirm if I should just call NVC again at a later time to speak to another rep and try to provide my email address OR if I need to wait to recieve something in mail from them? According to this rep, the case was recieved today.

Thanks

This is the third time I spoke to an NVC rep. First 2 were really nice but this one could not wait to get off the phone! Someone is not happy to be back at work after a 3 day weekend!
