Hello all. I'm a little confused. I've been reading around and I just want to get something cleared. I married in march of 2006 and petitioned immediately and received my greedcard by september. I got a connditional status so I waited for 2 years and submitted my I-751 about 2 weeks ago. Today I received a letter that said my conditional status has been extended for one year and that I will receive an appointment letter for my biometrics. Now, will I have to file another I-751 and repay the fee to remove the condition next year or will my condition be removed as soon as my current I751 petition has been approved?

Your conditions will be removed as soon as your current I751 petition is approved.

They only send the one year extension letter in case it takes longer to approve the petition. In case your petition is not approved within a year, you can file for citizenship direct, no need to file again for removing conditions.

When your I-751 is approved, you will receive a 10-year (non-conditional) PR/Green Card.

You do not have to re-apply. I received my extension letter in May 2009 and my case was approved August 14 2009. I received the letter 5 days ago that they were sending my permenent green card. I filed a waiver to file jointly as I got divorced before the 2 years and bfore I filed I-751. I filed the I-751 April 10th 2009, received the one year extension letter 24th of April went for the biometrics appointment beginning of May2009, and received the approval letter August 26th. Now waiting for the green card this week.
