My daughter and I got our approval letter for the I-751 on May 13, 2009. I filed the I-751 with her as my dependent. I got my 10-year-GC last June 29 but my daughter never got hers. I have called the USCIS customer service twice, the last one on July 15. I was given a service request number, and was told to wait for 45 days which is the end of August. I was told to expect an update from the mail or online (CRIS). There was no mail and no online update.

What should I do? Should I go to the local office? My daughter needs her GC because she is applying for college in schools here in Atlanta.... and she needs to get a driver's license too. She is also looking for work. I know that she can use her Approval Letter but still, I think she has to have her greencard by now.

Please, any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks, Zen, Rabia and Meriem.

I called USCIS this morning and the customer service couldnt give me a reason for the delay as they are still looking on the matter.

I was told to call again by the end of August. About the I-551 stamp, i asked about that and according to the agent, that is only for travelling out of the US.... ???

I was assured last month that I would get an update from the mail.... and they said the same thing again today! :o:angry::angry:

Dont rely on what Customer Service Agents tell you. They dont even know how to do their jobs. I just came from Atlanta this afternoon where my son and I had to get our passports stamped as our GC's have been lost for three months.

Make a Info Pass for Atlanta and tell them what has happened and they will stamp her passport good for a year until her card gets delivered to her. This way she can get her lisense and show it to employer's that she is still legal.

We had a similiar problem with my stepdaughter.

I contacted my senator and his immigration specialist squared everything away in a few days.
