I don't think it matters that much....IMO whichever you put its going to be fine.

thanks guys,

so should i put my original place of birth or the city? because i put the city on my first g form?.....

If I understand, you put your actual birth village on one form and the "oblast" or a nearby big city on another?

Why don't you put them both - Village, City, Country. It's a common enough way of writing things in the former Soviet Union. That way you will be in agreement with both forms, and you can explain if they ask.

How about putting whatever is written on your birth certificate? Is the city or village or town on that?

The AOS is pretty much a new process so they aren't going to be checking over your old papers probably. Just make all the new applications have the same information as each other. Write your name, address, birthplace, etc the same on AOS/EAD/AP. Use the name you want to go by in the United States so that gets put on your green card and in immigration records. Put your new last name if you plan to go by that.
