We just had our interview yesterday. Everything seemed to go well, we answered all of the questions truthfully and substantiated our relationship. The interviewer took the visa from my wife's Philipino passport. My only concern is that she would not conclude whether or not my wife would actually be approved for her conditional greencard.

I'm about 99% confident we're approved, but what do you think? Is her taking my wife's visa a telltale sign that we passed the interview, or is there a possibility that they are going to ask us for more information?

thanks

From what I read online, you will receive some notices:

1) Notice of intent to deny - which is USCIS request for more evidence from you because the officer was not convinced of your bona fide.

2) Notice of Stokes interview.

Given what the OP said, there is no reason to think that they have been denied or will be called for a second interview. It is common for the interviewer to not reveal the decision. OP - check your online status, you may already be approved. (Sounds like a credit card advertisement.) If there is nothing online, just wait, everything is probably fine.

Did they take your wife's visa or I-94? Taking the I-94 is quite common (as is taking EAD). Taking the visa (which is glued into the foreign passport these days) is not so common.

We just had our interview yesterday, and the officer did tell us the GC was approved. He did take the I-94, but did not take the EAD or AP - stating that it is my wife's responsibility to destroy them after the GC arrives.

Did you ask? Sometimes they will give a clue as to approval. But the decision is not actually made until (in our case) later in the day. There is virtually NO reason to fear denial just because they took the I-94. The visa is irrelevant, as it expired the day she arrived in the U.S.
