okay. so me and my husband had an interview.

our officer wasn't very friendly person. barely smiled..

I think interview went okay.

he took some of documents I brought, and gave me some papers(he told me extra)..

and He changed my eligible onthe Is-485 to apply for AOS to the first one and had me signed..

looked at our pictures...

and then he said. "that's all for today. I'll send the decision and if approved, you will get a letter within 3 weeks"..

we were like.. what?

okay. so anyone else had this situation?

I thought he's the one makes the decision.

he didn't tell me anything about FBI name check or ..

so I guess we're not approved... are we gonna get approved?

any ideas??

It doesn't mean that you were not approved.... it simply means they want more time to review your case.

Sorry to hear about your experience but I agree what others said, it doesn't mean you're not approve who knows in a few weeks you'll just surprise with your GC in the mail.

we were not told that we're approved at our interview but the

GC arrived in less than 2 weeks, i hope you'll get yours soon.

Sorry to hear your situation...... I have pretty much the same situation. I had my AOS interview on June 15 still no answer

Do not worry, we had a bad interview experience and left wondering, they said you will hear from us in about 6 weeks, but the welcome letter came about 2.5 weeks after the interview and a few days later the green card came.

Try not to worry, he could have been power-tripping. Our interviewer was similar, but we were approved.

Feb 28/08 - Biometrics letter received for The Bronx Office - have to reschedule

Mar 22/08 - Biometrics rescheduled - LOVE the Saturday appointment!

thank you all.

my journey isn't very smooth. I had to go to get IntermEAD.

and I haven't got my AP yet..

not getting approved at the interview... no idea.

why is that me?

oh well. we'll see. hopefully it turns out in a good way.

p.s I didn't bring my social security card to the interview because I lost it. would that be a reason?

Have you had any other issues with immigration? Can you see why there would be any other problems?

E.g. - did you have all the usual joint life documents (insurance, lease etc). ??

We are also in the same situation (Interview June 6th). I phoned the officer today ( got the number from another lawyer ) and asked her about our case since my EAD is going to expire and I dont want to waste $ 190 on another EAD I told her.

She could not even remember us ( is that good or bad ) so she asked my for my A number and she said that will pull the file and make a decision as soon as she can. She took my cell number too.

Thats it. Waiting again and again.

06/24/2005 - AOS, EAD and AP sent to CHI Lockbox

07/06/2005 - Notice Dates for AOS, and AP applications - RD 06/27/05

07/15/2005 - EAD and AOS fingerprints&biometrics done walk-in

07/27/2005 - AOS biometrics received

09/07/2005 - Advance Parole approved

09/07/2005 - EAD approved on 09/07/05. Email same night.

09/08/2005 - EAD Card received ( Issue date 09/01/05. Great !

09/09/2005 - Applied for SSN, not is system yet, manual verification pending.

09/14/2005 - Advance Parole docs received.

09/30/2005 - Received letter from SSA that my SSN card should come within two weeks.

10/11/2005 - Received Card. Great news. Thursday License test.

06/06/2006 - Initial AOS Interview in Chicago. ( Officer said she will review our case)

08/07/2006 - Contacted Senators officer to inquire into our case.

08/23/2006 - USCIS interviewing officer called us and wants us to go back for 2nd interview next week

09/08/2006 - second Interview in Chicago. - APPROVED after Stokes Interview.)

09/11/2006 - Enlistment in the United States Marine Corps - shipped to Boot Camp

12/15/2006 - Graduation from Boot Camp in San Diego MCRD

04/13/2007 - Fingerprints for N-400 and N-426 expedited. No more waiting at INS lines when in uniform.

04/14/2007 - Naturalization through qualifying Military Service submitted N-400.

09/20/2007 - Citizenship test and Swearing Ceremony - Applying for first US Passport.

10/02/2007 - Received my US Passport. Its beautiful.

10/16/2007 - Going on vacation to Greece. I missed it a lot.

11/02/2007 - Coming back from Greece through JFK. Its a nice feeling to be home again.
