wo hoo! congra ~

rlogan,

there should be a profolio section on the UCSIC.gov website, then inside there are 5 tabs, and one of them is listed as last updated, that date is the last touched date.

We are not communicating effectively. I go to my portfolio. I click on my receipt number. This is EXACTLY and ONLY what I get:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Case received and pending.

On August 18, 2009, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

There are no five tabs. Because I have a problem, unlike you, so it isn't helpful to be directed to a place only people with no problems can see.

I hope someone will in kindness pay very close attention to my question:

We received I-797C "Notice of Action". That notice says:

you will be receiving an appointment notice with a specific time, date and place where you will have your fingerprints and/or photos taken

We have received nothing since. The only information online is EXACTLY and COMPLETELY what appears quoted higher up above in this post.

I am guessing that other August filers got their SECOND letter - the one that gives the time and date of the biometrics appointment - before they were able to see their file being "touched".

I am also guessing this is because their files were transferred from th NATIONAL PROCESSING CENTER to a REGIONAL office.

Extremely frustrating to have components of this spoken to so inexactly. Just the dates for example. There are a total of five possible dates people are referring to when talking about how this might take a "month"

8/10 - Date we sent application

8/12 - Date they received it (have registered mail receipt)

8/13 - Date they say they received it

8/18 - Notice Date

8/24 - Date we received the notice

So there are two full weeks' difference in what people are referring to when they say it could take a month.

Hey! I know it's frustrating. We are actually taking our time to try to help you with this.

Now when you applied for k-1, did you create a portfolio? If not, then on that screen 'case status online', go to create/edit portfolio account for a customer. After creating a portfolio, Then you will hopefully see the dates that I am referring to.

No matter where your case is, if somebody picks it up and does ANYTHING to it, most likely you'll see a date change. However, that being said, judging from many VJs' experiences, the online system is not perfect and very often they don't update it. So, I'd say the best thing to do is to wait for the mail. However, if you don't get any news from them in a week, I'd schedule an infopass appointment if your local office is relatively close to you.

I had a problem with our mail change and my biometrics appointment letter never got to me. i scheduled an infopass appt, which sped things up. In this respect, make sure you have your names on your mailbox. That was our problem.

Good luck!

Hey! I know it's frustrating. We are actually taking our time to try to help you with this.

But you are adding to my frustration instead of helping. Please listen carefully. I have asked you a specific question and you don't want to answer it.

Is your case at the NATIONAL PROCESSING CENTER? Or has it been forwarded somewhere?

It would be very kind of you and compassionate to please answer my specific question. I will keep asking that question until it is answered. Thanks.

Now when you applied for k-1, did you create a portfolio? If not, then on that screen 'case status online', go to create/edit portfolio account for a customer. After creating a portfolio, Then you will hopefully see the dates that I am referring to.

As I already stated: I have a portfolio. I go to my portfolio. I click on the receipt number. I do not have any tabs. There is one statement, and that is all I can see.

Good luck to you too. I wish we were communicating.

RLogan, my biometrics letter took a while to come through too. My cases (K1/K2) were entered onto the CRIS system at random over a 5 week period. It was very hard for me to check progress as USCIS are not very reliable when it comes to updating your case online. My biometric appointment came through BEFORE my case was transferred (not all cases will be transferred). My cases status online was updated to say my case had been transferred oafter my biometrics appointment but dated a week before!?!!

What I will say is you SHOULD have or be able to find a portfolio page once you log into your account on the USCIS site. If you are sure there is a mistake and you don't have one, call NBC, they will palm you off with a 90 day excuse, so be warned! The information you have pasted up here is what you read after you click on your case number, the MSC number. If you can see the MSC number, next to it should be a date. That date is what changes as and when you file is moved or somebody looks at it. Again, your case status may not change even if the date does. This is a 'TOUCH'.

I'm sorry if you find the information people are giving you does not help, but it is accurate. I hope you can sort the CRIS stuff out soon, this process is hard enough as it is!

PS. Please update your timeline!

Thank you SO MUCH Herolmunia and Kirsten UK

By answering my specific question it crossed one vey important possibility off my list. THANK YOU.

These are the headings in my portfolio account:

[select] [Receipt Number] [E-mail] [Last Updated] [Form Number] [Form Title]

I have one application only. I-485. It was last updated on the day they sent my notice to me.

Hi everyone,

I'm just filling out all my AOS forms and I have some trouble finding what I have to attach to the I-131 form, Application for Travel Document. Can anyone help me? I know I have to include two passport size photos but do I need any more copies of anything else?

I also have a question about the I-693A do I have to provide that form to the civil surgeon or do they have it in their office. I could not locate it anywhere in this website so I don't know what to do.

Under the tips for helping you fill out all the documents it states, "I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (if you already have this from your overseas visa interview submit a copy that medical check form......" what is "that medical check form"? did anyone submit anything as proof, a copy of the receipt or anything else?

Best thing to do is look in the main aos thread for the UK and on I think page 6 is a full list of everything you will need

I just sent my medical form in that I received at my medical in the UK as they signed the waiver box I did not get it transcribed, seems ok as I got a e-mail saying my ead and ap were approved yesterday and my aos has been transferred to California did not get a ref for only sending in the copy of the medical from the Uk and not sending in the I 693

Congratulations Shaz!!! Not sure what to congratulate you on first though, your transfer that you so wanted or your AP so you can go and see your mum. Although 9-10 hour flight won't do you back much good. Hope it all works out for you though.

Best of luck.
