I know you only need to have started the hpv course to file aos but,

I got my first shot of hpv along with a couple of other shots here in the USA back in may, as soon as I had got my last missing shot I went to my nearest civil surgeon to transcibe them to the I-693 or whatever number the form is and I sent it in with my aos package. Noa1 date june 18th

My question is I am now over due I think for the second shot of hpv but I really don't want to complete the course, as to be blunt I had a funny turn directly after it. I thought I was because of nerves and the doctor said as much, I have since read it's one of the listed side affects, and on top of which I haven't been quite well in other ways since around about that time and I am still not right, hubby and I are concerned that it might be a result of the shot or shots not agreeing with mr. So I would rather not complete it.

I don't want this to turn into a scare mongering thread about the hpv as I haven't prooved that my problem is deffinatly due to it, I would just like to know if they are gunna make me complete the whole thing?

If you don't have the virus and hubby doesn't. You won't need HPV unless you or hubby messes around!

There are definitely some undisable side effects.

If I had the sealed envelope from the civil surgeon or have already submitted it I know I'd do!!

I think you might find that others have said that as long as you have started the shots, you could send the AOS...And definitely, if you believe the vaccine had a bad effect on you, most likely it did; everybody reacts differently and because I work in the healthcare field, I know of many reports where females had really bad side effects from that vaccine; others supposedly don't have any. But your body knows best.

Now, if you're concerned that not getting the last shot might cause an issue with your AOS, and if your doctor is agreeing with you that you had a side effect, once you know of your scheduled interview, maybe get a note from him saying that you're going to get the 3rd shot, but waiting on side effects to diminish before finishing the series. Of course, doesn't mean you're going to finish the series, but in case that came up in the interview, you got medical proof that you 'intend' to finish the series. Just haven't done so because of medical reasons.

Below is from a USCIS Q&A session dated July 2008

The HPV vaccine is required for females ages 11 through 26 years of age. As with all the vaccinations, because completion of a vaccine series often takes several months, applicants are currently not required to complete a series before being medically cleared to proceed with adjustment of status. They must, however, complete as many doses as was medically appropriate at the time the medical exam was conducted and are encouraged to follow-up with their primary physicians at a later date to finish any series.

To me that paragraph is saying you're on your own ("encouraged") to finish the series.

You don't have to complete it. But for your own health safety, I would advise to go to your own physician and seek their advise. Your AOS should be good. Good luck!

I didn`t complete it. I just had the first shot for the sake of AOS, but after 3 days in bed with a fever I decided I wasn`t going to get the other 2.

Thanks guys, at least I am not alone and crazy About the hpv.

I have already filed aos and sent my I-693 sealed so I'll just wing it and not complete it.

ok i have my interview on the 9th of Sept mere 9 days before i age out for the vaccine. its not possible to approve pending proof of being up to date with the vaccination is it? i hope not.
