i have a question that is also about proof.....i havent fount anything yet.but thought i would ask in this thread....i havent been able to go to the phils.do to some family financial problems.to make along story short.i have been talking to my fiance for the past 2 and a half years.originally i was to go there and bring her back here either thru k1 or k3 visa depending on how we felt when i get there.i would like to know if i was to file for the k1 without physically meeting her.but having letters, packages, emails, chats and things like that of proof of our relationship.would that be enough to get her here?or my only choice is to actually meet her and show proof we met?please try not to be so brutal.thanks

Sorry..but you will have to meet her atleast once. Sell everything you have if that's what it takes to make the trip. If you love her that much it will certainly be worth it. Good luck to you. Mike

Also bear in mind you are going to have to show you can support her financially, once before she is issued a visa and once after she arrives. Something to consider if you haven't met due to financial constraints. Also, you will not be able to "bring her back" with you. After you return from meeting her you can file the petition and expect 6-8 months until she gets her visa.

READ THE GUIDES about all your visa options and responsibilities

thanks.i just wanted to make sure.i told her about selling my stuff.but she keeps saying no.she doesnt want me to give everything up for her.which actually i dont have much rite now.or atleast not enough to get the money i need for my trip.about the only things i have thats worth anything is 2 computers.but.1 i surely need to keep intouch with her.the other is for my trip and to leave behind for her so she doesnt have to use her sister's computer at home all the time.thanks again.

For purposes of filing the K1 and showing both proof of meeting in person and establishing that a legitimate relationship exists, when I visited Gabriel for the first time in South Africa, I made sure we took plenty of pictures together in front of landmarks (the Johannesburg Zoo, street signs where we rented our home, the Nelson Mandela statute at Sandton Mall, Sun City, the Johannesburg Airport, the country specific menu items on the kiosk at McDonalds or KFC, the church we attended, etc.). We included photos of us doing ordinary things like shopping for groceries, dancing with my daughter at home, Gabriel playing dollies with my daughter (laugh) , playing video games at the Mall, taking walks through the neighborhood, meeting other SA residents.

Also, we included the engagement ring receipt and photos of the ring, with me wearing the ring he presented.

Of course, we included our itineraries, boarding passes, passport pages with entrance stamps, and temporary resident permits, baggage claim receipts, receipts for all purchases in the country, newspapers/flyers/brochures we picked up there for concerts or other entertainment, lease agreement for our rental home with both our names on the lease, travel insurance with both our names, wire transfer receipt showing proof of payment for our lease to the owner of the home in SA, phone records from my blackberry showing calls from SA, rental car receipts, ATM withdrawal receipts, movie/entertainment stubs.

Just enjoy your vacation and time with her, but also document your entire experience together and you will be more than okay.

You need to meet, USCIS is very strict about that. Get a ticket the best way and price you can. Pension house hotels are very inexpensive in the PI. Take pics of you 2 together and come home and file your 129F. No need for a lawyer. If I can do it, anyone can......

good luck

NO You MUST actually meet in person and provide primary and secondary evidence of this. The meeting MUST have occured within the last 2 years and it must be before you file the petition

thank you.i have read that ionfo before.but then a filipino im friends with here told me i didnt have to meet.but he wasnt sure.so i decided to go ahead and find out for sure from other people who have gone thru it and know more about it.thanks again.

You have to physically meet her unless it is against your tradition and or culture to meet. That is hard to proof. You should try to meet her to avoid RFE. Good luck on your journey.

I agree, if you haven't met in person your chances of her obtaining a Visa are incredibly Slim.

The 'meet in person in the last 2 years' is to protect both you and your lady.

To the OP, we also sent in tickets to shows we went to and our entry tickets to Edinburgh Castle, everyday things. Sounds like you have a decent amount already.

thanks.hmmm.then my best bet is to meet her.my only problem is money.i work.and have mademore than enough.but just havent been able to save yet due to some unfortunate events.im taking care of my family and then helping her.she has asked me and wanted me to even promise not to send her money anymore so i can save.but i want to help her out with her schooling.plus incase her elec or net goes out she has money to go to the cafe and txt me.to let me know whats going on.rite now i have missed a lot fo work and fear i lost my job.when i asked her about me loosing my job.she said she will be mad and upset.which i understand.but i just dont want her getting negative and say things to me that causes me more stress and pain.so i was trying to figure out if there is a way i can get her here without saving money to go there.as originally planned.by the way.can any1 give me an estimate on how much i should save to go there to meet her?stay for 21 days at her house.she is in mindanao.in bayugan city.and possibly other ways to make money to add onto what i already make?thanks every body!!!!

There is nothing that USCIS would accept as "tradition and culture" within the tradition and culture of the USA or PI as an excuse not to meet.

I would also not advise sending money to someone you have not met in person, but that is just me. It is generally not a good idea. Expenses, in addition to travel are basically your choice and depend on local costs. Two people can have a pretty good time of it on $100 per day in Ukraine (without hotel costs, which sounds like that is covered for you) and that includes a lot of dining out. Also there is no time limit on how long you must meet so there is no need to go for 21 days unless you want to.

i was thinking of saving around 3000 to 4000 dollars.my friends can get me plane tickets for about 1300.my fiance just really wants me to visit.originally it was we were going to get married when i get there.but all she wants is to finally see me face to face.its been 3 years already.and we have been thru a lot.we r finally getting a break from all the stuff her family and my family has put us thru.her parents are about money.while she is about love and friendship.she begs me not to send her money.even makes me promise i wont.i know she isnt after money.there has been a few times i couldnt send money for months and months.her sister and cousins as well as aunts and other family members really want us to get married when i do visit.i told them we could but it would have to be thru like a jodge.i couldnt afford a bis fancy wedding.even it being the price it is compared to the states.they are finally agreeing with that.which is good for me and she is even letting her friends know now so she doesnt feel ashame bcuz pride for her and her fmaily is a big thing.where she is at.her family is well known.for those who know the bayugan area and live there.she lives in taglatawan.her fmaily is the cogollodo family.here is a picture of jenes....
