Interview document Check List

Hello All!

I gave my biometrics on 24th July in Baltimore.

Today I received a YELLOW letter form the USCIS that said "since I am basing my naturalization on marriage to a US citizen, when I go to the interview, I should take the following documents with me, but not to post them".

I did include these with my original application package - why do you think I need to take them again...is it a problem or just routine?

1) My state driving license

2) proof of termination of previous marriages for both me and my spouse

Many thanks,

Kiki :star:

On the real interview letter the list will be much longer

just wait a few days. :)

Thank you!

The assumption is made you sent in altered copies of your original documents, at your interview, they may want to see your original documents. They didn't want to see our original documents at our AOS, but sure did at the interview, it all depends on your IO. Maybe we had honest faces back then, maybe the IO at the USC interview is paranoid, your guess is as good as mine. Would be insane to send in altered copies of your originals, maybe after five years of dealing with the USCIS, we looked insane. Maybe we did go insane.

Huh?

Why on earth would they assume my documents are altered after almost 5 years of sending in the same ones?

I got the yellow letter too and made sure I took the requested items with me and much much more. However, at the interview, all they asked me for was my ID and my current passport and the interview letter. I was almost disappointed!
