Applied for my unrestricted SSN Card a week ago, got it in the mail today.

I was surprised I got it so fast.

Congrats! Weird about them taking the EAD. So does that mean you have to wait another 2 or 3 weeks for the green card to arrive before you can work?

Thanks for that review! I'm glad everything went so easy! That's too bad they took your EAD when you just got it. You waited so long for it and had no time to enjoy it!

Yea, I was hoping to get to keep my EAD at least for souveniers sake until I got my PR card. 2 days it was in my hand, haha.

She told me if I had a job lined up, to tell them I am eligible to work & should receive my greencard soon. I dunno....I think I might wait a few weeks till I get my "proof to work".

It's interesting how people have such different experiences at their interviews. At our interview in Denver, they didn't want my I-693 either, and they let me keep my EAD and AP. The IO did however take my I-94 out of my passport and put it into my USCIS file. That was actually the first thing he did before asking us any questions.

I still haven't had the work conditions removed from my SSN and I've had my GC since November. It didn't make a difference to my employer, so I figured I would save myself a trip down to the SSN office for now.

Congrats on a smooth interview CDAgirl :)

I am so confused about the documents we have to bring with us. On the interview letter it says to bring all documents we sent with our application and also letter from DH's employer. So I have to make a copy of all the documents we already sent? I693 too? I already sent it with the application. So confusing when they keep asking for the same thing over again

I can't seem to find our interview letter to verify (perhaps they took it?), but I seem to remember that after each bullet stating what you need to bring in, it says something along the lines of "unless already submitted" inside brackets.

I brought copies of everything just to be sure, but not once did I have to refer to any of it.

Yes, anything you already submitted, you don't need to bring to the interview.

They didn't ask for a letter from my husband's employer (a recent one) nor did they ask for his birth cetificate, which is on the interview letter checklist.

All they really asked for was my EAD, & proof we live together (I brought a car insurance statement, bank statement & a visa bill...all which had both our names on them).

I forgot to mention till it was said here....Hugglebuggles, she did take my I-94 out of my passport too.

Yes, I just noticed that last night after I posted this. I'll just bring everything and if they want to see it I'll have it

  • 2 weeks later...

So when can I make an infopass appointment about my GC? It'll be almost 5 months soon since I sent my stuff in.

Maybe since I used my AP they'll get on it, but I highly doubt it.

I could be wrong, but I think it says no the NOA1. Maybe 180 days? 6 months? As long as you have your EAD and AP, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I felt like I waited an eternity and then was all prepared to make an INFOPASS and it showed up.

Removing Conditions

Sent package to VSC - 8/12/11

NOA1 - 8/16/11

Biometrics - 9/14/11
