Please keep us updated if the RFE was for not having the transcription. I didn't get mine transcribed since I couldn't find a CS to just transcribe them. They all required me to have a full medical.

Oh no, it's not that... it will probably cover the (stupidly expensive and unnecessary 2nd shot of) Chicken Pox vaccine. And more importantly, we actually have income now, so it might be easier to pay for it, even if it doesn't.

Hi...I just sent a "copy" of the certified copy from the court house. I had an RFE too..thought it was for the medical, (I didn't get it transcribed) but it was something else. They didn't care about the medical part at all.

RFE's are awful. It would be nice if they give you and idea of what it's for so you could start getting ready. Mine showed up about a week after I got the email. They also give you a time frame as to when to send back the information, (mine was for 87 days). It only put me back about a month for approval as I had to wait for information from Canada, but I still got approved by about 3.5 months after sending in the original packet.

Best wishes! :)

What did you get the RFE for? I'm trying to get everything ready for the AOS and i want everything to be in order so i can avoid the RFE.. So you didn't get one for the medical, even if you didn't get it transcribed? That's good!

Well...mine was an unusual case. I get a survivors (death) benefit from Canada. So we included that as income, (which it kinda is) on the affidavit of support. Our RFE had to do with proving that I could work etc, which of course at that time I couldn't. So I waited for a letter from CPP to prove that I received that money and where it came from. Didn't realize I'd get RFE'd for it...I sent in the taxes to show where it came from..guess they didn't put two and two together...

However, it is good to know that if anyone DOES receive special benefits from Canada and will continue to do so for the rest of their life...then I strongly suggest to get a letter from them ahead of time. USCIS seemed to accept all that and approved my case. And the nice thing it adds to the yearly income, in case it seems "short".

So, I got my AP in the mail today --- a day before my parents are flying down to come see me! ha. How ironic! We didn't want to wait for the AP so I convinced them to head down this way instead.

You can prepare all you want. Doesn't mean you won't get an RFE. I prepared, and I got one. I had a very extensive, and thorough AOS package, aside from not getting the vaccination transcription. It all just depends on the situation. Just because someone gets an RFE, doesn't mean they didn't try to prepare and have everything in order.

And it's not what i meant, i'm sorry you understood it that way! But obviously, if you're not prepared you're more likely to get an RFE.. Which is logical to say that if you're more prepared you have more chances of avoiding it, but you never know with the USCIS :P

For the weirdest reason EVER, I got my EAD today.

They told me it wasn't being produced.

Seriously USCIS... what are you doing?

well... this is fun. I received my RFE info today. Seems like they lost MY ENTIRE F'ING MEDICAL. "All USCIS records relating to you have been reviewed. The U.S. Department of State medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025, and DS-3026 are not in any of those records".

SO very glad my trip to Toronto, and an overnight hotel stay to get my medical were a complete waste of time.

Can I just move back home? Cause seriously, this is ridiculous. Not only do they misprint my Visa in my passport (anyone remember that? good times)... and they do not give me an I-94 at the POE (also fun.. had to drive in LA for that one)... but now this.
