Buy a truck... get an AK-47 (well a civilian version)

Charles and Lancer, I propose an experiment!

We can blindfold and put you in sound suppressing headphones.

I will then shoot you in one leg with a civilian AK 47. Next I will shoot the other leg with a military AK 47.

If you can tell me which wound was inflicted by which gun, without being prompted by the one of you not shot in this first experiment, then I will agree there is some sort of logical difference between the two versions of the same weapon.

We can repeat the experiment on the other of you. This time we can use either version of the AK 47 on one leg, and a .308 on the other. It is possible, despite the pain, there will be a noticeable difference in the wounds, but my guess is, with the level of potentially lethal trauma to each leg, you won't really be in a mood to guess which gun inflicted which wound.

you have issues. no doubt, people like you should not own weapons  You also obviously know very little about lethality of either weapon....

I don't own a gun. Don't want to own a gun. Pretty sure the Second Amendment secures my right not to own a gun. But my ridiculous proposed experiment is an effort to show guns are potentially dangerous. A fact apparently lost on you and the "lets get more guns out into society at large" crowd.

You don't need to know about the lethality of weapons to understand and respect the potential lethality of all guns.

Lol sure in that experiment you'd be able to tell the difference. The "civilian" leg would have a round or two in it. The "military" leg might have a round in it but the recoil would cause another 20 rounds to slam into waist torso and head.

In one case I'd have to go to the hospital. In the other case i'd have to go to the morgue.

Guns are inanimate objects

So are concentration camps and gas chambers. Maybe we should resume building those too.

go right ahead, it would fit in with your "**" rants. :jest:

so are a variety of things. does the oklahoma city bombing ring a bell?

for that matter, why not round up everyone who voted for gwb and revoke their voting rights? after all, their vote for gwb helped kill lots of people.

something i just don't understand is why left leaners scream and shout when the government infringes on their rights (aka patriot act) but march right along when it's about something they hate (gun ownership). it makes me wonder who's really got the big picture in mind of the rights of the population overall.

It seems to me you're concerned about what "may happen" when guns are used. Sure, people have been shot and killed. There are lots of crazy people out there and many of them are armed. I don't think anyone has been attempting to say otherwise.

The fact remains, however, that there are far more responsible gun owners. You don't hear about them because they don't do crazy $hit.

It's a lot like marriage. You always hear about how "50% of marriages end in divorce," right? That statistic fails to recognize the other 50% who remain together.

But that wouldn't make for a good story, would it? Neither would articles on responsible gun owners. Neither are interesting to most people. That's sad since we're constantly deluged with negative stories. Apparently that sells and the media knows it.

I don't wish to blame all of this on the media. That's not fair. However, it's not wrong to point out that we often hear about the worst in society while neglecting the best.

Now I'd agree that's a "cruel and unusual" punishment. :P

this is typical of about 33% of demi-rats. that live in big city where they have most of the gun crime commited in this country. ( by the welfare classes.) Gun crime's should = 10 yrs HARD LABOR & REMOVAL OF TRIGER FINGER!
