Hi everyone.

Been a while since I was on VJ. counting the days till my k1 interview ( week friday ) and assembling and re-assembling the paperwork

in preparation for the big day.

while doing so. I remembered that I have to provide a couple of US style passport photos on the day. I know in the past there has been some hubub with certain types of passport photos which applicants have had done on the day or just before at some of the local photo places around the London Embassy so thought about using someone like "passpic" to get that task taken care of in advance.

I did use their service a couple of years ago when I renewed my UK Passport without problems but....

Has anyone used this service or one like it to obtain US style photos ? and if so, did they have any problems with them. ?

i am not aware of passpic so can't give you any feed back for them but i used snappy snaps. if you go on their website it should have a bit where it tell you they do it at their outlets. i don't know if every single outlet of snappy snaps do it but i was able to get mine done at the snappy snaps in ashford of all places and i think there are london ones that def do it. its cost me a tenner there abouts around january time to get two us passport style photos and they were accepted no problem at my interview.

My fiance/husband made his own with a digital camera, printed on the little photo printer he had, and cut them to 2x2. As long as they meet the size requirements and the other requirements outlined about not too light/dark, background, no shadows, etc, I don't think it matters where they come from. He used DIY for all the steps requiring photos as I recall. There's free software or step by step ways to do passport photos if you're up to it and have a decent printer with photo paper.

Like, Nich-Nick our passport photos were digital pics I cropped. As long as they are the correction dimensions and the face is photographed straight on, no background scenery, you're fine.
