Has anyone else experienced this ?

Rosie and I got her three letter and then a letter for her BIOMETRICS for July 1st in OMAHA NEBRASKA.

We did her Bios and were glad to see things starting to roll, we know this is a long waiting process.

BUT a week after her BIO's we recieved a LETTER stating that they were moving her FILING to CALIFORNIA to

speed up the process. I looked and it looks like a 6 months waiting list for her AOS (GREEN CARD) AP and AED.

So instead of a 3 month wait it looks like its turns into a 6 month wait.

Thank GOD ROSIE is already here. Thank GOD I have a great job and we don't ever need her to work but it would be nice for her future and to help the family a little back home.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL

This happens regularly and is a good thing. Your case will likely be approved without an interview (saves loads of stress and time preparing and gathering docs.) It is also usually faster than having to wait for an interview.

The EAD should be approved within 90 days of filing (and usually within 60-70), and the greencard should be approved (without an interview--that's the good thing about being transferred to CSC) within about 3-4 months of transfer to CSC.

Expect EAD: late Aug/early Sept

Expect GC: mid-Oct to mid-Nov

Unless you were "dying" to be interviewed then its not so good but if not, the transfer is a pretty good deal!

Depends on how you look at it Lancer. Transferred to CSC means you don't have to wait for an interview date, but an interview means you would get your greencard alot quicker than you would without an interview.

I am sure some cases are different.

I think it shortens the time to get the actual green card, however, you lose the chance of getting a temporary I-551 stamp at the interview, so some benefits are delayed, while the actual green card production is faster, just my thoughts on the matter though, could be wrong.

If you already have AP and EAD, then the I-551 stamp doesn't really give you any advantage, so IMHO, its better to have a shorter wait to the physical green card.

At times it does but no interview makes it appealing...

I am sure alot depends on the local office and their interview schedule and any possible backlog. But for anecdotal evidence look at my timeline and that of Eric-Pris, both with NYC as the local USCIS office. Eric-Pris filed for AOS 2008-07-23 and was approved 2008-12-10 without interview.

We applied 2008-05-23 and were approved 2009-05-13 after waiting for the interview to be scheduled and then waiting for the interview. From around the time when I applied, most cases not transferred to CSC were waiting more than 3-4 months for interview (though not necessarily as extreme as our 12 months). I am sure there were some extreme waits at CSC as well.
