Who cares if someone goes against the grain? If they back up their point with reasons, then I think it should be considered a valid POV, even if I don't agree

But mostly they don't. They just keep blabbering on about obvious nonsense for which they have no back-up whatsoever. Nor do they offer any no matter how often one asks for it. Not their fault, you say, because evidence of their frivolous claims simply doesn't exist? Great, then it would be time to concede that one was wrong.

I don't agree...I see many valid points on both sides get lost in the fray of 'you moronic so and so' bs because it's such a game of tug of war between 'I'm right' and 'You're wrong'. Like I said, perhaps I am mellowing, but it really just gets tiring to see.

Valid points can be substantiated. Go back, if you would, through the POTUS citizenship thread that was closed this morning, and point out to me which valid point of those claiming that Obama lacks proper US citizenship I have missed. Please, point that out to me.

Well, in regards to the POTUS thread, I do think that it's much ado about nothing IF there's a valid certificate somewhere...meaning, why all the secrecy? Why all the time wasting? It's a matter of public record, so I don't understand why there's so much surrounding it. Furthermore, regardless of where the report was posted, the fact that it hasn't been thrown out of court makes me believe that there's more to it, and that the claim has some merit somewhere.

I don't follow the whole BC thing all that closely, but I do think there are valid questions surrounding it.

I haven't posted here in ages, aren't too familiar with all the 'new players', but at the end of the day, I've read some things from that OP that have made my skin crawl. However, that doesn't mean that everything out of his mouth should be dismissed as garbage because I did think he raised a few valid points.

Judge Assails Lawsuit Questioning Obama Citizenship

WASHINGTON - A federal judge today threw out a lawsuit questioning President Barack Obama's citizenship, lambasting the case as a waste of the court's time and suggesting the plaintiff's attorney may have to compensate the president's lawyer.

In an argument popular on the Internet and taken seriously practically nowhere else, Obama's critics argue he is ineligible to be president because he is not a "natural-born citizen" as the Constitution requires.

In response last summer, Obama's campaign posted his Hawaiian birth certificate on its Web site. But the lawsuit argues it is a fake and that Obama was actually born in his father's homeland of Kenya, even though Hawaiian officials have said the document is authentic.

"This case, if it were allowed to proceed, would deserve mention in one of those books that seek to prove that the law is foolish or that America has too many lawyers with not enough to do," U.S. District Judge James Robertson said in his written opinion.

The lawsuit didn't even use Obama's legal name but called him "Barry Soetoro," the name he went by while attending elementary school in Indonesia. It's one of many that has been filed claiming Obama is ineligible to serve as president.

Robertson ordered plaintiff's attorney John Hemenway of Colorado Springs, Colo., to show why he hasn't violated court rules barring frivolous and harassing cases and shouldn't have to pay Obama's attorney, Bob Bauer, for his time arguing that the case should be thrown out.
