You should include tax transcripts, not the whole returns. though I suppose if you include the returns, you should include the W-2's. Best way is to request the transcripts -- -it is fast and quite easy. Go to the IRS website and check for the phone number.

I agree with *Len* the best way is to send the transcripts.

You can call or complete the FORM 4506-T to request for the transcript of tax return.

Here is the number: 1-800-829-1040 (7:00am-10:00pm)

or the link for the form: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506t.pdf

I got the transcripts 10 days later. Hope it helps! Good Luck (:

I agree with Len and frenchie. Make sure you request for the tax return transcripts (there are other types of transcripts) when you call them. And if you're in a hurry you can visit your local IRS office and ask them to print the tax return transcripts for you.

Here's a useful link to help you locate your local IRS office address, business hours, and also to check the services they provide. Just click on your state.

What hapends if we didnt filed jointly but married filing separately?

I only have my IRS transcripts. Do I have to ask for my ex-husbands too?

Do the tax documents have the same address as yours? If it shows the same address you should definitely send it along with your petition and perhaps explain why you guys fill separately.
