Tell you what... invite me. I'll make it interesting.

I'll go in looking like the lost love child of The Village People and Boy George while wearing a Mickey Mouse hat and clown shoes and showing signs of Tourette Syndrome.

Helllooooo!

Well, I'm here and surprising alive.

I just witnessed 3 days of the most UNCOMFORTABLE experiences in my life. I hope you all never have to go through something like this in your life time. It was embarressing and shameful to watch a marriage, in a Catholic church of all places, take place and to see how miserable EVERY one was, including the bride.

The words to sum up the weekend come from my newly married brother in law while we were at his reception. "I'm not allowed to have fun"...while he walked away from us while we were on the dance floor cutting a rug. We just looked at him in disbelief.

We got to the hotel Saturday and they had overbooked the hotel..so, of course, we had lost our reservation. They were booked solid as well as teh hotels in the area so we waited in the lobby for 3 hours trying to figure out what to do. Luckily, we got to use one of my brother in laws friend's rooms since he had booked 2.

It all started at the rehearsal dinner on Saturday night that my Father-in-law threw. As people began to arrive, tensions were already high. My father in law was very angry and he didn't even want to be there. The families did not mingle at all, and kept completely to themselves while we ate and drank. It was so very weird.

So, after that I had a drink with my father in law and every one went to bed kind of solomnly. It was really strange and odd.

The wedding day was hell for almost every one. My sister in law was up at 6am getting her hair done, even though the wedding didn't start until 2pm. They asked my mother in law to get her make up done, and she agreed, but didn't realize she would have to pay.

The final number in the wedding was much more like 100K and not the 50K that I had originally though. The flower budget alone was $5,000.00.

The bridezilla was a mean girl the entire day. The church service was almost TWO hours long. I really get upset when I see people get married in a church that are not religious at all. I don't know why it bothers me so much, I guess it's a personal thing. When you can't remember the Our Father prayer, you probably shouldn't be getting married in a Roman Catholic church IMO.

After that, my husband disappeared again for pictures (Round 2 that day) and we went to the reception. Well, an hour and a half later, they still had not arrived. I tried to call him but I got no answer. I then called my mother in law who told me they were waiting in the trolley that was taking the wedding party to the venue, stopping every 5 minutes for Chris and Bridezilla to get out to take more pictures. By the time Jared got there, he was starving and sweating since it was very hot on Sunday. He was in a TERRIBLE mood and wanted to go home.

I was also in a terrible mood as you can imagine, of the 200 guests, 50 of them were my family, and most of them were on the trolley. So, for two hours I sat by myself.

Any ways, finally we got in there and my father in law wanted a picture of the "deo" family together. Bridezilla was not happy about this and you could tell she was pissed off. After the picture was taken, she literally jumped away, picked up her drink, and walked straight out the door.

But, the best part of the whole night was her telling my father in law that it was his fault she was late to her own reception. She had made up this story of my father in law asking for pictures to be re-taken at the church and that is why they were there for so long...(not the 1.5 they were stuck on the trolley, stopping every block to take more photos)

So, as you can imagine, that did not go over well. Every one is angry and wants nothing to do with her or her family. I really don't know what the future will hold!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Ahh he's stuck with her now! OH NOEZ!

Wow. She probably thinks she has him by the balls now.

And two hours for a wedding is INSANE. I would have left

"I'm not allowed to have fun" #######!?

Sad. :(

Like this is the day she has dreamed about and she spent it miserable.

Wow. Your poor brother-in-law. 100K? It won't even last a year. I am so sorry that you and your husband had to go through this and that even on her day the bridezilla couldn't find it in her heart to be happy and nice. At least this part of it is over for you and you don't have to worry about it anymore - at least until the fall out from the break up, that is.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Well I am glad you made it through the weekend, it sounds absolutely horrendous! :( She and her family made their bed, now they will have to lie in it. It doesn't sound like your BIL is it all happy, :( I don't wish for unhappy endings, but in this case he needs to rethink his decision.

Isn't it! I had fun! My sister in law and her boyfriend (Canadian guy from Toronto!) were dancing and I joined them for some fun! I laughed a lot at the end which was nice.

I didn't really see my brother in law the entire night. He didn't eat or dance...and maybe with 10 minutes left in the evening he had ONE drink. Talk about not enjoying this RIDICULOUS wedding!!!!

Of course, she didn't talk to me or thank me either for coming but I expected that.

The only two songs she danced to at her wedding was their first dance (which was an instrumental that was picked off an orchestra mixed cd she found at a store..how meaningful) and she requested a meatloaf song at the very end.

Even my brother in laws friends, who have always liked her and thought she was a nice girl, saw a lot of things that made them shake their heads. It's a shame for my brother in law. I hope he doesn't lose friends threw this but he probably will.

When you say meatloaf song did she request: "Anything for love"????

*sings*

I would do anything for love... but I won't accept your family...

And I am sorry but if I paid 100K for my wedding, you better believe I'll be tearing up that dance floor and partying like its 1999. My wedding wasn't near that price but I didn't leave the dance floor all night!

It's your wedding! HAVE FUN!

I couldn't justify paying that much for a wedding at all. Thats a really really nice downpayment on a house, or repayment of debts. Thats insane. He sounds so miserable, and she doesnt sound like she was happy with it either. I feel aweful for him, and I really do hope she either changes 350% or that he comes to his senses and gets the heck out of there!
