I am thinking about going in December. But i am really nervous. I know i should just trust that he will meet me at the airport. It does not help that i would travel alone untill i get there. I Guess i would just like advice on how to calm my nerves? I am sure there has to be other couples that have gone and visited each others Countrys.

Yes, there are loads of couples that have visited each others country.

Are you concerned you will go all the way there and he won't be there to meet you?

My main concern is that i am a young american going to Pakistan. He will be there for me. I am also trying to calm my parents fears. It does not help with everything going on over there. I guess i am just trying to talk to other couples and what its like to be so far away? Plus what they felt when they went to the other country? I love him and i dont want to regret not going. Plus its hard for me to get vacation time. I will have two weeks in dec. Do you think that my trip should be 2 weeks instead of one month?

I had gone twice to see him and a third time to attend my bros wedding. Where in Pakistan are you going?

I would be going to Islamabad. He is studying there.

What was your first visit like? Sorry if its too personal than feel free not to answer question.

If you are too nervous, perhaps a third country where you both meet would be better...

I am just wondering if it is realistic for me to go? It does not help trying to calm my parents fears. My mom thinks i will be stuck in pakistan and wont be allowed back into the U.S

Well if you are planning to marry this man in future, you're going to have to physically meet him to start the process. If you are that nervous, like I said...pick a third country where you feel more comfortable and he can be allowed to travel to. Only you can decide what's best for your situation.

Good luck.

1.you need to go...i am sure, he will be pissed if you back out..

2.if you are afraid then, do not go....meet him elsewhere

3. do nothing..you meet the requirements already

your choice...

we lived in pakistan for four years they let us back in lol\

islamabad is not to bad of a place u can find food that ur used to there easily and the guest houses are pretty nice, the airport has improved a lot since we were there.

also if ur going to marry him u have to be able to trust him and if he does not meet u at the airport turn around and take the next flight out

just my opinion

Last-I-checked, US does not stop anyone holding a US passport from re-entry.

Is your mum worried that Pakistan's exit officials will not let you leave?

As for third-country-option, how about (Western) Canada--such as Vancouver, Edmonton or Calgary?

I get what the OP is sayin....travelin alone to any foreign country takes a bit of balls imo. But the OP has to follow her heart and know what she is comfortable with...only she knows. Deano's right, the req's are now met, so she could file without going....
