Our song is "No One" by Alisha Keys :) Suited our situation perfectly. Everytime we hear it he nudges me and kisses me, or we still grab hands or something <3

And my 'get-through-the-months-of-waiting' song was "One Step at a Time" by Jorden Sparks...seemed fitting a lot of the time

Great thread!!

We have a couple of songs that have meaning for us, but don't particularly have 'a song' yet....

I try to get my fiance to allow this to be 'our song', but he's not going for it :P LOL (his name is Dan)

Also, this one totally makes us LOL every time (again, his name being Dan makes it awesomer), and I posted it on his facebook wall on St. Patrick's Day. lol

Recently this one has seemed appropriate :(

And finally... this is probably the closest thing we have to being 'our song'... though I've changed my mind recently. Still a beautiful song that I really love, but the lyrics don't feel like they have the oomph required to be 'our song'. They seem too desperate.

Great thread!

Our song is In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel.

It's a song I've loved for years...and it just fit so well.

It was the first song we ever danced to.....alone in his bedroom.

We danced to it on our wedding night.

It has such a special meaning to us.

Nick and I are celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary in August and we are getting our wedding bands engraved with "It's in your eyes 8.2.08"

<3

Let's Keep the Song Going!!!

Our song is by a band called The Appleseed Cast and the song is called A Dream For Us. It's mostly instrumental but here are the words:

cause what i feel inside

i dont want to hide

it's you that got to me

its what i want to sing

cause i've got a dream for us

running through my mind

sitting on the beach

looking at the sea

and we're old and tired

and time has made us smile

as we go on counting things

people in the breeze

we're not the only ones

there's hundreds on the shore

looking at the sea

but it's just you and me

if the day never comes

i sink beneath the tide

will you still be with me

or disappear?

It makes me cry every time I hear it. :) Nevada may be the only one who even knows who this band is. Nev, I love Belle Orchestra! And of course you know I loved your Maps idea at the end! SUCH A GREAT SONNNNNNG!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Our song is Stay or Leave by Dave Matthews. Here is a link of him doing the song live with Tim Reynolds:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LiagSjiPXA

And here are the lyrics to it:

Maybe different, but remember

Winters warm there you and I,

Kissing whiskey by the fire

With the snow outside

And when the summer comes

The river swims at midnight

Shiver cold

Touch the bottom, you and I,

with muddy toes

Stay or leave

I want you not to go

But you should

It was good, as good goes

Stay or leave

I want you not to go

But you did

Wake up naked drinking coffee,

Making plans to change the world

While the world is changing us...

It was good good love.

You used to laugh under the covers

Maybe not so often now

But the way I used to laugh with you

Was loud and hard

Stay or leave

I want you not to go

But you should

It was good as good goes

Stay or leave

I want you not to go

But you did

So what to do

With the rest of today's afternoons, hey

Isn't it strange how we change

Everything we did

Did I do all that I should

That I could'a done

Remember we used to dance

And everyone wanted to be

You and me

I want to be too

What day is this

Besides the day you left me?

What day is this

Besides the day you went?

So what to do

With the rest of the day's afternoons, hey

Well isn't it strange how we change

Everything we did

Did I do all that I could?

Remember we used to dance

And everyone wanted to be you and me

I want to be too

What day is this?

Besides the day you left me

What day is this?

Ya Treble its very near and dear to our hearts. We are huge Dave Matthews fans. I am actually missing the concert in Florida in August but my man will be there and I'm sure Dave will play it. He always does

Initially it was 'When September ends' by Green Day - we met in august and then suffered through a lonely Sept before seeing eachother again in Oct :(

'Hey there Delilah' by the Plain White t's - played an awful lot during the wait for the Montreal interview - makes me cry even now, it's sucha sweet song.

What I will say is that being really in love has made me appreciate all the love songs out there a little more....I was probably a little jaded before and found them sappy, but now I GET them totally

Yes you introduced them to me! :D

Do you guys ever hear a song you wished would have come out before your wedding??? I wish family tree by tv on the radio would have come out before our wedding because it's absolutely beautiful. It makes me cry every single time I hear it.

Oh well, I'll save it for my funeral.

We don't really have a song per se. There are a few songs that we both like and remind us of eachother.

For our wedding song we are going to use - Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. It's very fitting for us (and probably a lot of people here doing long distance).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfrZP32sIz0

We're going to break into a Fresh Prince song though during our slow dance... hahaha.... should be pretty shocking since R is kinda quiet... hahaha
