So, I got this e-mail from CRIS, stating that they tried to send me my NOA1's, and they were returned. Stupid people at the post office did not put the NOA1's in my mail box, because my mail box was on my husband's name, and even if we do have the same last name, this is not something they care about. At least they didn't return my Biometrics Appointment Letter !!!

In the state of Colorado, no NOA1 for I-485, means no Driving License, yet. Also, I already have a job (got EAD card as I entered though JFK), and my boss keeps asking me about my ID. And I keep telling him "hey, it's up to USCIS to send me my papers"...so one day he'll start assuming I was illegal !!!

P.S. I have receipt number for AOS and EAD, they are being touched pretty often. But no word on the AP !! Btw, my cases are at the Missouri Service Center. The ones that are not transfered to CSC, are they all in Missouri ??

And what is with this interview a few months after applying for AOS ? I thought the only interview we will have will be the one for conditions removal...

The AOS cases that are not transferred to CSC will be transferred to your local office for adjudication. They all will eventually leave Missouri. Then you'll have an interview at your local office.

As for the interview, USCIS interviews most people applying for AOS to ensure the marriage is legitimate. The interviews are typically anywhere from 4-8 months after filing, although of course there are more extreme cases of 2 months or 2 years. They usually ask the same kinds of questions asked at a K1 interview. K1s sometimes get transferred to the CSC, which means they don't have to have an interview. My own personal reasoning is if a case has few or no "red flags" (see my prior post on red flags), the file looks fairly complete, and the K1 already had an interview overseas, they may be transferred to CSC, not requiring an interview. My own calculations from the past 3 months averages out to roughly 25% of cases being transferred to CSC.

Edited to add - Just to clarify EAD and AP are adjudicated in Missouri so they wouldn't leave, AOS is adjudicated at either CSC or local office.

My guess is your local biometrics office is quite busy, being Las Vegas after all... loads of marriages, loads of people, probably a lot of immigrants there, like NYC. Just a guess though! You'll hear something sooner or later!

From what I've found elsewhere on VJ if you call them they'll generate it for you. I don't know if there's a requisite 30 day wait or anything like that though. The few cases I found where there was no letter they called post 30-day.

There was one that was post 60-day! :bonk:

In my opinion definitely don't wait much beyond the 30 day mark.

Well a week later the RFE has at last arrived in the mail. I put my shades on to shield my eyes from the bright yellow paper (####### is that about?) and it turns out they want something you guys (or most of you) have already done an I - 693 (Medical)

So of to the docs on Tues morning then hopefully back on track.

Good luck to everyone.

Our check was cashed yesterday so I'll be following this thread :)

On the back of the check is a 10 digit number, I suppose that's our case number.. but it doesn't have the 3 character code so I can't add it to our portfolio yet :(

The number should start with MSC, if it doesn't it's probably the wrong number. All AOS's go through MSC first.

Edited to add - Even if you can get the correct number off the check chances are slim you'll be able to add/track it. I wouldn't worry about it until you get your NOA at least.
