Jesus *is* God.

I thought most Christians see him as the Son of God, sort of like God Jr.

Are you serious?

Jesus is *both* God and the Son of God.

He basically gave birth to himself in human form. He used the part of himself called "the Holy Spirit"

to knock up Mary.

Luke 1:35: "'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.

So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God."

Christianity 101, man.

This is the belief of Pentecostal UPCI 101. Most sects of Christianity believe in the Trinity.

Is it really?

So most sects believe that he's God, the Son of God and the Holy Spirit?

I don't see how his being one more thing (the Holy Spirit) contradicts what I said about his being both God and the Son of God.

I see that. Maybe a course on religion or this website may help you understand: Oneness vs Trinity

Ok, I can sort of see the difference. It's a question of "God being one, manifesting himself in three ways" vs "God consisting of three beings".

It all makes sense now.

Makes for fun logic train wrecks.

Why would God sacrifice Himself to Himself to solve a problem he ultimately created Himself?

Were there any discussions about the meaning behind those holidays?

It just says 'under god' it doesn't say which god.

This is a fair and very poignant statement Madame Cleo. Personally, I would like to see a lot more GOD in the United States, and a lot more people willing to discuss God in a rational manner, one that is appreciative of the greatness of God.

We don't need a Christian revolutionary war like the Pastor suggests. However, I think that we'll see more comments like this in the upcoming years, because of the fundamentalist movements which we currently see rising in the USA. What we really need is some intelligence in our conversations regarding God.

I will say that I did not agree with Obama's statements that we are not a country of Christians, but rather a country of citizens. That statement seemed to take God (in whatever form of worship) out of America...and...I don't think (or at least hope not) that this is the case. God is here in our great country.

Peace and Blessings,

The 'one God in three persons' is actually after crucifixion and ascension...of course, you'll probably just mock that now, but w/e.

Wrong. The Trinity has existed eternally, not just since the life and times of Jesus.
