Hi, everyone! I will be mailing our package off tomorrow.

I know I'm being overly concerned, BUT. I have a question. Saturday the 18th is the 90th day, but we wrote the check and signed the I-175 for the 17th. Would this cause our petition to be returned (because we applied to early) or would USCIS use the date they received it?

I wouldn't worry about the check, that has no bearing on the date of your application.

To be honest it is likely that as they will receive it after the 90th day you will be fine BUT me personally I would simply complete another I-751 form. It is a very simple form and takes about 5 minutes especially if you are simply copying text from one form to another.

This would prevent you from worrying once you have mailed it off. Always think risk versus reward. The cost is 5 minutes filling in a new form versus the risk of the application being returned.

Just my two cents (which is worth less than it used to be!)

Paul

Hi Reeses16

Why dont you wait another day or 2 and send it on around tuesday to be safer?

I dont know whether it's correct but I remember one time reading either here VJ or other platform people was saying that USCIS using the date you mail it.. not the date they receive ..

If your GC expires on october 18th then Your 90 days period starts like july 20th not the 18th.

here is the link for automatic DATE CALCULATOR

put exact expiration date of your card in months day and year then substract 90 days , If your expiration day is oct 18 then it comes to july 20th..

http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html

and here is 2nd link that people advice each other on VJ not to send on 90th day or early but sending it 88-87th day..

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=205249

I believe you should send it earliest tuesday..

reeses16

What is the expiration date of your Green card?

Don't confuse 90 day with 3 months, they r not always the same!

When you r using date calculator just make sure you switch it from " Add" to " Subtract" before you calculate.

Its makes too much sense, Paul. lol. Thanks! I will just fix the form.
