Hi to All,

Need advice:

I have submitted DS230 pakage to NVC. I talk to NVC operator and found out that an RFE is on its way........

RFE is regarding Original Birth Certificate........ my wife sent the original english translated Birth Certificate.... they said they want the original, the one issued in the native language.

Unfortunately the original native language Birth certificate is lost during the earthquake when a lot of her family's paperwork was destroyed. She can go back to the issuing agency to get another Native language original Birth certificate......But the new one will have the issue date as of June/z/2009........

Will this be ok..... should i accompany the new issued Birth Certificate with any other documents? like affidavit....etc

seriously, hard luck....long wait...... but what can I do.....keep my hopes alive to get together with my wife soon.....

Any advice will be very appreciated.

Thanks

You know, you never know with NVC. My guess is that since the dates aren't going to match there could be a problem. May I ask why you didn't submit the original, when the instructions say they want originals?

i think that was explained by the sounds of it. they thought submitting in English would be better.

anyway good luck with your quest on getting the original birth certificate.... i hope that if you explain it, then they will be ok with it??

Hi, my BC also dated March 09, I went to the govt office and ask for the new one since there were some mistakes on my parents name. The govt also put endorsement on the back side of my BC explaining why they issued a new BC for me. So I don't think the issuing date will cause a problem as long as it an original/certified copy doc.

Good luck!!

Hi! Need help on Birth Certificate

I lost my birth certificate and had only the copy of it, even in that my name was different, to make the problem worse it was issued five years after i was born.

I submitted the copy of the birth certificate with an English translation and a bonafied certificate stating that i am using my present name, i did not submit any letter stating why it was applied after five years for the I-130 , now my interview is on 6th August.

I applied for a new certificate and got it, can i now submit the new one with a new bonafied letter, or what should i do, please help.

You make it so far.. So I think just bring your new original BC to the interview. That's only my two cents :)

Good luck!!

Do not send it in the mail it could get lost. Take it to the interview, if they need to see it then it will already be there. Many people have to get a new birth certificate for one reason or another. The date it was issued is always going to be a current date and NVC know that.

My Parents had to get new birth certificate and new marriage certificates all were dated May 2009, they were accepted by NVC with no problems.
