Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

That a tough question to answer, because I'm positive it depends on two factors: 1) the wealth and financial status of your fiance's family; and 2) whether or not the US considers India a 3rd world country. I know neither answer, but you can bet on the decision based on the answers. If your fiance is from a wealthy family, she can come at any time for any reason; otherwise, probably forget it. If she is from a country the US considers a strong ally, then of course she can come anytime too; if not, forget it. Thats basically the truth.

I'm a US citizen and applied for my fiance's K1 visa in May, she lives in India and is an Indian citizen. Can she apply for a visitor visa to the USA and come for a few weeks in August?

Thanks!

Denial of a tourist visa will not affect the K1. They are two different things.

But as for the question, I highly doubt the possibility of being granted a visa. I remember Estadia trying to get one recently. IIRC, her fiance is from India as well. I have also read it is next to impossible to get a visitors visa there.

We're in the same boat, same month. It cant hurt to try but most of it depends on the luck of the draw. It would be easier for the USC to go down and visit the beneficiary.

Some consulates actually believe K1 as a good guarantee non-USC will return while others use it as a reason of why they are treated as an intending immigrant to deny the B2.

because the K-1 is in process already, your fiancee has an intent of staying, so a tourist VISA would be pretty difficult, she needs to prove ties to her home country something that guarantee that she will leave before the tourist visa expires.
