You can submit the one you have. Submit a photocopy. Keep the original for the interview.

Submit the copies for the AOS. You will have atleast 4-8 months to apply for a duplicate. If possible try having an original, otherwise just pray they don't ask for the original Birth Certificate else you will get a RFE. I have my original in my homecountry and am just taking the copy alongwith a certified translation from our Ministry of Foreign Affairs and hoping they will accept that.

Hi! Need help on Birth Certificate

I lost my birth certificate and had only the copy of it, even in that my name was different, to make the problem worse it was issued five years after i was born.

I submitted the copy of the birth certificate with an English translation and a bonafied certificate stating that i am using my present name, i did not submit any letter stating why it was applied after five years for the I-130 , now my interview is on 6th August.

I applied for a new certificate and got it, can i now submit the new one with a new bonafied letter, or what should i do, please help.
