Ack, I lost us for a second there!

Ever, congrats!!! :dance::dance::dance:

I seriously do not understand how some get approved before others. I feel really blessed, but I hurt for all of my groupmates, who are still waiting. :huh:

I spoke with our attorney today. We are most definitely going to be denied at the interview, and he plans to have us standing ready with the waiver. I'm really nervous - sick to my stomach with worry, actually.

Even though I got my I-130 approval quickly, we have a long road ahead of us before my husband steps off a plane onto US soil. :(

Married 2008

-------------------------------------------------------------------

5/21/09 - filed I-130

12/7/09 - Interview (denied for 28 yr old CIMT); filed waiver same day

6/18/10 - I-601 Waiver Denied, added misrep for checking wrong box on landing card (lifetime ban)

7/16/10 - AAO Appeal filed.

8/31/12 - AAO appeal sustained (THANK YOU, GOD FOR YOUR MERCY)

10/8/12 - USCIS sent file to Consulate

11/28/12 - Visa in hand

12/10/12 - HERE AT LAST! (ALL GLORY TO GOD!)

Why would you get denied at the interview????

28 year old crime of moral turpitude. We'll have to file a waiver of inadmissibility.

Yep, they do. He's now nearly 53 years old.

Any crime of moral turpitude committed after you were 18 makes you inadmissible and requires you to file a waiver. His was theft, a long, long time ago. Of course, he's not the same person, and many years have passed, but it will cause a denial. We're hopeful that the waiver will go through given the amount of time that has passed without further convictions.

The things you do in your youth....you just don't know how they may affect you later. Somewhere, I'm sure his mother is shouting, "See! I told you so!"
