So I saw an ad on TV for the new Pledge fabric sweeper for pet hair. Our cat is not actually allowed to be on the sofa, however that doesn't stop her from sneaking up there periodically.

Anyway, we got one of these things and surprisingly it actually does work!

Ok cancel that - I mean it does work, but I just found out that it is not 'reusable' - i've had it maybe a week and like I said, I use it maybe once a day and so today I was going to empty it and find that it's actually a disposable product! What a waste of a good product.

Anyway I read on Amazon that someone actually cut a little hole in the dome to empty it, which is what I will do, but I would not have bought it if I had known it was not reusable once full.

I think it's called the Magic Brush. This should work. It did whenever I had pets. You brush it one way and it picks things up, brush it the opposite way and it take's it off the brush. It works good! I thought maybe that's what you had in the picture, a newer version but for pets. Try this!

Anyone have a good tip how to clean out your gerbarator? (Not sure if that's spelled right!) I've never had one before, and I think it's getting stinky.

I'm getting one ASAP then! Thanks!

Another thing is people have pets here on the board, get some SPOTSHOT. My dog has pooped, peed and thrown up on the carpet and it works EVERY time. It's awesome!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

all i've ever done with the one at home is turn it on at least once a week, maybe run a sink full of soapy water thru it to keep it lubricated. you could always try some pine sol though to help kill any odors.

There's a product called "Disposer Care" that you can buy almost any grocery store in the same area where you buy dishwasher detergent. They are little packets that you stuff in the disposal then turn it on with a slight stream of hot water going into the disposal. It foams up and cleans out the disposal of any odors and crud - when its done it gives a big "WHOOSH" and everything flushes down the disposal and you can then turn it off. It works really well. They say do it once a week, but I generally find once a month is plenty. It isn't expensive either and comes with 4 packs in a box. Oh, it's also lemon scented.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Oh cool, that sounds exactly what it needs! Thanks for the tip, will look for that at the store :D

My mom got us one of these for cat hair and I thought it was a gimmick, but it actually works very well on couches and other surfaces.

However, I don't like that it is disposable. We go through one every couple of months.

Downy Wrinkle Releaser!

Best invention ever! No more ironing my duvet covers or sheets! I just wash, lay, then spray. Also fabulous for travelling. I got my sister hooked on it and she got her friends hooked on it and now I have to bring great batches of it with me whenever I go and visit.

Anyway.... I just used it to spritz my duvet so I'm still pretty excited.
