The alien registration number will appear in the benfeciaries passport after they pass through customs in the USA.

Alien number is a assigned per alien when they are going through the immigration process. Each one is unique for every individual.

Later forms may ask for that.

other wise known as the AA# that you see on a lot of the K-1/AOS papers

In the beginning not very many people have a AA#, but once you start the process, one gets assigned to the immigrant petitioner.

This number will be put on future forms (AOS)

The A# (alien registration number) is your "ID" until you become a citizen. It's how USCIS keeps track of who you are and your current status in the US. It will be on your visa, and your Green Card number will in fact be this same A# you received with your NOA2.
