I see that you need a police cert for everywhere you have lived for 6 months or more. My fiancee lived in multiple cities in Alberta, Canada. Does that mean she needs one for each city ? She also came down to Atlanta georgia for 8 months for work does she need one from here as well ?

Your fiance should get a Canada wide check (CPIC - maintained by the RCMP). And no, USCIS will do their own checks for her activities in the US.

Good luck.

She can go to the local police station, but it needs to say CPIC on it or a search through the National Search Repository. Anything else won't be recognized by the embassy.

Good luck!

she went to a local police station will that do it? Or does she need to go somewhere else ?

Have her go to the local police station. They might send her to the RCMP. I don't know where she lives. If it's in Ontario, you should have her go here. http://www.commissionaires.ca/national/en/...lice-clearances

If she has a criminal record, she will have to be fingerprinted. Along with any court documents that she would have to bring, you'd better have her get started with that right now if this is the case. All fingerprinting is sent to Ottawa and takes up to 76 days to get back.

Haven't seen you post before carvin...please stop by the Canada forum here for more info: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=93

As well there is info here on Canada immigration issues, such as fingerprinting on the VJ Wiki page:http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Canada

So . . another Canadian planning to come to the Atlanta area? Wonderful! Welcome to VJ!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
