Postponing Fiance Visa Interview

I just received an email from the embassy in Dublin stating our interview is June 23. I can't get time off work to go that week. If I ask to postpone does anyone know how long it will be? I can go anytime in July.

Are you the USC? What consulate are you going to? Depending on country and the particulars of your case the beneficiary can do just fine on their own.

I would do everything possible to not reschedule. If you simply must then you should contact the Consulate/Embassy directly and see if they can give you another (later) date.

I submitted my HSL draft on immigrate2us. It's a really long story but he overstayed (by just under a year) and has a couple of dwis so we're expecting 3 year ban at least. Have most of the waiver compiled (letters, evidence, etc.). I just never even imagined not being there for the interview. I mean, I know they won't speak to me but I just want to be there for him. 2 weeks is not a lot of notice. I can go in July, I'm just afraid to even ask! I might wind up waiting months for another appointment. :-(

Ah - yeah - the overstay is not a good thing to have over your head.

Rescheduling is usually not a good thing to do IMO.

It sounds to me like this is important to you, and I understand what a struggle it can be to get time off of work, especially on short notice. If it were me, I'd try to reschedule too.

From your consulate info page (http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Ireland&cty=Dublin), If you email them, including your case number, you can try to request a new interview date, or the beneficiary can call to reschedule. Actually, I think having the beneficiary call or email (as it is their visa application) is the best way for this. Be specific in your request, maybe even suggest some dates.

Thanks for your replies. I contacted the embassy and requested a date anytime in July so I'm still waiting for a reply. I really expected more time to arrange travel, etc. 2 weeks seems very sudden.
