Where are you from? It is much easier for people from certain countries than others. For example anyone included in the vwp can easily visit. However, it would be almost impossible for my fiance to visit from Kenya due to the fact it is already difficult to obtain a visitors visa they would think he is lying and trying to get to the US sooner.

Hi everyone :)

First, thank you so much for all the topics concerning the K1 visa.

My fiance, who lives in Portland (OR), sent the I-129 petition in California center for the K1 visa (May, 27).

I miss him a lot and want to go to Portland in July for 2 weeks to visit him ... Do i need to tell the officer of immigration service that we are in K1 visa process?

Hi everyone :)

First, thank you so much for all the topics concerning the K1 visa.

I traveled several times to the US while going through the K1 process. The last time was shortly after I had received Packet 3. You are no where near that stage yet so shouldn't have any issues going through US immigration for a visit.

I found if you are fully honest and open with the immigration staff you should be fine. When I was asked about the purpose of my visit I explained I wanted to spend a few weeks with my fiancee. when the guy looked up and smiled it sparked a conversation about how we met etc ( not as interrogation as the guy seemed genuinely interested ) he asked me " who is moving where " and I said that I was hoping to move to the states pending the K1 application approval we are going through. After which he stamped my passport. clipped in the green visitor card and on I went to baggage claim.

Go enjoy your time with your other half. :D
