Here is my husband's interview experience at Chennai, India

05:20am - Got up

06:10am - Left Hotel and took auto to Consulate

06:20am - Reached at consulate

They only allow starting the waiting queue after 6:30 so they were asked to go to nearby bus stand.

06:35am - Stood in line, couple of people already there. Regardless of what time you get there, they ask you to stand in line based on interview time. So, my husband repeatedly told me to mention that there is no need to go there early.

06:50am - Receptionist or some lady checked the interview letter and passport then proceeded security checkin. Again, no sealed envelop or battery related things allowed. My husband didn't notice anyone having hard time

07:00am - entry into consualte. For immigration visa, they were directly sent to 1st section, while other visa types (B1, Visitors, etc) had additional check to go through.

08:00am to 08:00am - wait

08:00am - Collected interview letter's first page from everyone and were slided under one of the intervidew window

08:30am - Indian officer interview (window 7) (called in any random order)

A. Reviewed all documents that she had from
NVC

B. Asked for following documents: 2 passport photos, passport, wedding invitation, wedding pictures (asked to pick 15-20 pics), 2008 tax extension, 2007 tax return (since we didn't file 2008 taxes).

C. Returned IBM paycheck

D. Asked following Question

- wife name?

- who is petitioner?

- Have you ever visited US?

- Your B1 visa will be canceled.

E. Asked to sign DS-230 (#28 in native language, and on 4th page in english)

F. Gave pink color token with number and was asked to write name, address(address is the one where you want passport to be received), phone # (mobile/land line), email addresses, on it

09:00am - Window # 11: Finger print (called based on token #) in any random order.

10:00am - American officer called, asked Hi, how are you, and reviewed documents

- when did you marry?

- where is your wife staying, north carolina?

- You're working in IT field?

- Do you plan to join same company in US?

- Photo joya

- Your visa approved!!!
