All the way in the interview - they told me that I applied too early, and had to withdraw my application right there. I had to pay the filing fees again too, what a bummer!

Anyways, yes they let you do the fingerprints by walking in. I did that last time and so did a couple other people that I know. Just pick a day and get there early, you'll be out in 15-20 mins.

Good to know about walk-ins...unfortunately, I will be working through next two weeks, I guess I will just have to curb my impatience! :whistle:

But this is crazy they let you know at the interview, what a bummer! :blink: The only positive thing out of this is that you're very familiar with the process at this point...and you do not need to study civics and you might not need another set of fingerprinting!

June 6, 2009 - mailed N-400

June 8, 2009 - delivered to the Lockbox at 2:47 PM

June 11, 2009 - check cashed

June 15, 2009 - received NOA1 (June 10th - NOA1 date)

June 22, 2009 - received biometrics letter

July 10, 2009 - Biometrics

July 27, 2009 - Interview Letter received

September 16, 2009 - Interview @ 1:40 PM (Approved!)

September 26, 2009 - Oath Letter received

October 14, 2009 - Oath Ceremony @ 11:00 AM

I am a U.S. Citizen!

October 23, 2009 - applied for US passport

October 29, 2009 - US Passport received

November 6, 2009 - updated SSN

This is a second try for me. I applied in Jan 09 based on marriage to USC, based on 90 rule prior to 3 yrs. Turns out, I applied a little early. Problem was that I already had GC from my employer a yr before I got married, so I filed abou 15 days prior to my 3rd anniversary, whereas the 90 rule only applied to the date on the GC. I know its a little confusing, but in short to file on marriage basis you HAVE to pass your 3rd anniversary.

I

have perused all the sites and this does not make sense to me.

it is 90 days before the date on your gc .

I was married in april 2005 but entered usa aug 2 2006

I have sent n 400 and really do not expect any problems because I sent approx 80 days before my 3rd anniversary of entry.

If I encounter a problem I will let you all know

please add me to texas list

my noa is june 17th 09

Can someone please add my husband's information for me? Thank you. We are mailing out the N-400 today to Texas (our local post office has Sunday hours). Our office is Albany. Looking forward to the final leg of our journey!

Hello everyone!

I am posting off my N-400 tomorrow...do you think this will be enough evidence? Here is everything I am sending off:

SECTION 1

• Completed form N-400, Application for Naturalization.

• A photocopy of both sides of my Permanent Resident Card.

• Two identical color photographs, with my name and "A-number" written lightly in pencil on the back of each photo.

• A check for the application fee and the biometric services fee with my "A-number" written on the back of the check.

SECTION 2

1. Evidence that my spouse has been a U.S. citizen for the last three years: Birth certificate (my spouse never lost citizenship since birth)

2. My/our current marriage certificate.

3. Proof of termination of all prior marriages of my spouse: Divorce decree.

SECTION 3

4. Documents referring to me and my spouse:

• Tax returns: Copies of our joint federal tax returns for 2006, 2007 and 2008; all of these were filed electronically.

• Bank accounts: Copies of statements from our joint checking account spanning the time we got married to the present day.

• Mortgages:

- Copy of the deed of our current house that shows us both as the current owners.

- Copy of an affidavit saying that we are first-time buyers in the state of Maryland and that we will use the property as our principal residence.

- Copy of a Deed of Trust indicating that we are the "borrowers" from the mortgage company.

- Copy of the Settlement Statement of our current house that shows we purchased the house together in January 2008.

- Copy of a letter from the Maryland Homestead Tax Credit Division indicating that we are joint owners of our property

- Copy of the deed of our previous house that shows we had joint ownership as of February 2006.

SECTION 4

Since I was married before, I am sending proof that the earlier marriage ended: Divorce decree.

Since this document is in German, I have provided an English translation that the translator has certified as complete and accurate and that he is competent to translate from the foreign language into English.

hi i am new here and this is my 1st post. I need little help from you people. I had sent my n-400 application to uscis lock box facility Louisville taxes on 06/05/2009. I haven't received any reply from uscis and they haven't cashed 675$ cheque from my account. Its been almost 1 month now. Please guide me what should i do now?

Hi KikiDoug - I think your list of evidence looks great. That's a very similar package to what we sent in also, it's not clear to me how much evidence we're supposed to provide of the marriage being ongoing. I'm guessing that when we get to interview, its better to be over-prepared than under-prepared... so I plan to take boatloads of stuff just in case, and hopefully we won't need any of it :D

Hi KamranAshraf1 - welcome to VisaJourney! And to the June N400 filers thread... :star: I'm sorry to hear your package has had no movement yet... The first thing to ask is did you use some kind of traceable mail (delivery confirmation or a service like that?) to make sure the package was received? If you know it was received, but they haven't cashed the check yet etc, I would call to 1800 line and ask for a second level officer, who can look up your file by A number and see if it has been logged into their system. Let us know some more info, and we'll try to help you out!
