Hey everyone,

Just wondering what the waiting period is like for Montreal right now. If my NOA2 comes in August/September, what is the likelihood of getting an interview in October? Thanks.

Tina

Udella&Wiz, I know there was a spreadsheet - I assume it has gone by the wayside now? Is anyone doing another timeline to interview for Montreal K1?

Do you know what the link is for the old spreadsheet?

Everyone's timelines are different, and you just never know with the Montreal Embassy!

It seems to be around 3 months, but some people sneak in there earlier! I was case complete at NVC in February, and didn't receive an interview until mid-May. Definitely check out the typical "wait" times and cross your fingers! From what I read & heard from NVC there was a bit of a back log at Montreal, so hopefully you have a shorter wait time!

Good luck! :)

No, I forget who was looking after the k1 spreadsheet, but I believe her fiance past away due to a horrific traffic accident. Another Cdn member then offered to step up to the plate and take it over, i think i recall seeing post in the past few days about her intentions!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I'd say an interview usually takes anywhere from 2-3 months from the day you get logged into the system - not the day you send your packet 3 back. That's the average. Some have gotten one in 6 weeks, some have taken longer.

I sent back my Packet 3 in mid-November, was logged into the system in early December and then received my interview date of March 18 in February.

Worst part is that I haven't been able to log in to see my case status online. So even after I get my NOA2 in the mail, I won't even know when I've been logged in after I send my packet 3 :( Just hope things will be okay.

You can't see that part, don't worry :) Once you get your NOA2, it gets forwarded to the NVC. You call them and ask them what day they sent your file to Montreal. From there, the only way to know if Montreal logged your file is to email them.

One way to speed things up at NVC is to pay everything online and not to use snal mail. We lost between 4 - 5 weeks because my husband send everything in by mail and did not utilize the quickier method of paying online. Hope that helps you out.

She is doing a K1, so she won't need to pay anything before the actual interview date. Just wanted to note that so she doesn't get confused.
