Perhaps you can submit your employment contract.

A bank statement showing the value of the CD's should be sufficient.

I filed DCF in Denmark then returned to the states. I secured employment, but its on a contract basis, so I don't have "pay stubs".

Right - so I did completely understand you - you were asking how the heck anyone can dcf without u.s. employment and I mentioned how it is done.

I know you don't have any paystubs as you are on contract. There are other ways to prove income - a contract probably has a - contract. Even if you are just doing short jobs you probably have a contract for each or even if not - then some evidence of payment for the contract(s)?

Yes, but its a royal pain in the #### to go through it all in getting my joint sponsor. I was told by the embassy that if my mother wanted to use her CD's for assets (which she has to do as she doesnt work), she needed signed bank statements from the bank, which the bank won't give you. Apparently its common place to get such a document in Denmark, but not in the US. The bank representative will not "sign" a bank statement.

Getting a joint sponsor is the easiest way to get rid of these issues. Is that not possible for you?

They won't sign her bank statement attesting it to be a true and accurate copy?

That's dumb. She needs to ask for a manager.
