Ok, so I've been reading other peoples threads about how at their interview the IO refuses to stamp their passport and then takes away their AP documents so that they can't travel. Our interview is scheduled for June 30th and I HAVE to be in London by July 6th, I can't not go as my in-laws have bought plane tickets & accommodation for then as well as all my relatives back home being invited to my wedding ceremony on July 11th. What can I do? There's no point in saying 'you should have thought of this before' because everything is clearer with hindsight.

Don't bring your AP at the interview so they can't take it away from you! ; )

No, seriously I think you shouldn't worry! Normally they let you keep your EAD and AP while you re waiting for you GC.

Good Luck!

Do you think it would be ok for me to go in to the interview, be approved (I am assuming this will happen) and then head next door for an infopass appt to get the stamp?

I really don't see any reason that they would deny us at interview, we've been living together since 2006 but you never know I suppose :\

The IO should be able to stamp (I-551) your passport.

They didn't take my EAD away from me at my interview and I had handed it to the IO and he just gave it back. I still have it. I am sure they will be reasonable with you and either let you keep your AP or give you the stamp.
