Hello every one!!!

I know I am jumping a bit ahead here, but I just found out that the NVC will need original documents. Here's the problem, I misplaced our marriage paper (sad I know, I just filed a few weeks ago). I am really hoping it will pop up before we get the NOA2, but if not can we sent my husbands orignal copy (with translation and signed off by the american embassy - just like the copy I sent in of mine)?? Will this make a difference? Do you think they will question why my marriage paper isn't available (which I can happily tell them, I misplaced it  - like I do just about everything else)?

Thanks for your answer in advance!! Have a great hump day!

You should be fine by sending his in! Just be sure to search hard for yours just in case anything happens to his.

Where did you file it??

Do you mean filing my I-130 petition? I sent it to the Chicago lock box. It's now at the CSC.

Sorry but it sounded like you filed a original MC with the petition.

Hopefully you didn't do so by mistake !

You can send in your husband's copy. Just make sure you keep copies of that document.

Also try requesting certified copies from the issuing authority, as somone has mentioned above.

Oh, I see....you were quoting me. Sorry I'm slow, I'm working on 16 hours of sleep in the past 4 days. I didn't file the original, just a copy of the original. I had it a week ago, but for the life of me I can't find it now....sigh, I'm sure it'll pop up somewhere.
