  1. 1. For Those Who Are Not Black, What is the Likelihood of you Getting Your Haircut in Barber Shop that is Owned and Operated By Blacks?

    • It makes no difference to me.

    • I'd prefer another Barber Shop but would go there if there wasn't any other barber shop.

    • I'd just wait and go somewhere else.

i voted but im not sure my vote will really count toward a realistic count..........i have a brother half black, two full black sisters and a smaller sister that is half black, soooooooooo we spend a lot of time in barbers and hair salons owned and operated by black people

i am from guatemala and to be honest the best perm i ever had was done at a black salon, the perm for the first time stayed in and looked good for a long time, when we take the kids to non back beautician or barber, they do not seem to be able to do a decent cut on black hair or biracial hair, also when we set in a non black salon we dont feel that comfortable, we are muslim and use hijab so we get a lot of confused looks lol, when we go into a black Establishment we are greeted with home style hospitality and NOBODY pays any attention to our way of dressing.

anyways just my opinion :D

i did walk into a barber shop w/ all black barbers & patrons a few years back.

i looked around, everyone looked at me. one of the barbers said "don't worry we cut straight hair too...lol", "anybody bring scissors today? we got a brave white boy here...lol".

i stayed & got one of the best hair cuts i'd ever gotten. i kept going there for about a year. they closed the shop & moved it across town. if they stayed at that location, i'd still be going there.

The shop I go to is run by a Mexican family, mom and three daughters do all the cutting. Most of the clientele is Latino, the language in the shop is mostly Spanish. They're friendly, the price is right, they get by hairstyle the way I like it, I rarely need to wait to get my cut.

Needless to say I'm a loyal customer.

If they were a black family I'd feel exactly the same way.

Hair is sacred. It should never be cut.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I am a feminazi, I don't get my hair cut. Could you provide a different example that I can feel involved with?

MY SON's hair is totally outrageous - he needs two hairdressers to cut it - perhaps I can answer on HIS BEHALF???

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

The long hair for Native Americans represents the strength of their spirit. They believe the longer the hair, the stronger the spirit, and why only certain people are only allowed to touch your hair. When a Native cuts their hair, traditionally it is only for mourning.

If the barbers were as funny as the ones in "Coming To America", then most definitely.

Seriously, it would depend on the way I was treated when I went in there. If I was treated respectfully (a little friendly ribbing would be OK) then I'd go back. If I was looked at/spoken to like a piece of sh!t, then I wouldn't.

I've been to a black barber shop.. but I don't like getting my hair cut with just clippers, I hate it.. I don't like soldier buzzcut.. I like someone who can use scissors..

but the coconut spray they use at the end is nice...
