I know you said the government of Detroit, but you might want to go higher up for assistance. Have your USC spouse contact a congressman for assistance.

I am sorry your wait is so long. I hope an approval is imminent.

Im so sorry that you guys are having to endure this long wait. That is truly heartbreaking.

I agree that your USC spouse needs to contact his congressman and/or senator and ask for a formal inquiry. He can also ask USCIS for an expedite based on being WAY outside the processing times.

I would write my congressman AND senator and ask them to make a formal inquiry along with an expedite request based on your timeline. They will need your case #'s, a brief description of the timeline and a privacy release form.

Good Luck and keep us posted.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Try your senator's office.

If he does not help, try Texas Senator - john Cornyn. He is on immigration subcommitee.

If lawyer filed your case, you have option to go to AILA.

Generally you don't want ALL people pushing your case. That can be BAD.

Choose Senator over AILA if you have both options.

I wrote to the USCIS oversight comitee and it did nothing. I also wrote to my senator and got nowhere. My congressman's constituent manager was the very best and she was extremely helpful. I think it all depends on who your reps are.

Good Luck

Also, after being outside processing times for so long, your USC spouse has the right to inquire and ask for expedite himself.

At first,i want to say thank very much to all you. Your all advice are usefull for us.

My husband have called uscis many time but they said waiting !!!

He did not ask congressman or senator for help without governemnt. Is it hard, if it right so i dont want he do anymore without waiting, i dont want to make he get more stress. In fact, that is uscis's job. They should have touch and approve our case like they do with other case.

Now,i only hope my husband can visit us soon and we will enjoy short time together.

Thanks again all your mind. Hope all best for you.

I agree with the posts above. Your husband has the right to ask his congressman and senators for help in this matter. This is a very common thing that folks who are outside of the processing times due. Your husband should contact these officials immediately as there is a specific group that is dedicated to responding to congressional inquiries.
