my bf at KANSAS get me a visit visa then if i am already there we will get marry.....is it possible? could we get marry there though i only have a visit visa?

your tourist VISA has an Intent to tour only, when you are finished touring, you are expected to go home.. if you decide to marry and adjust status, it is VISA fraud... big NO NO!!

You can marry, but it wont do anything.....the marriage will not extend the tourist visa, and the marriage will not give eligibility grounds for status adjustment to permanent residence....The only thing your marriage will do is give your husband eligibility to petition for a Spousal Visa once you return home. The Tourist visa will expire and you need to go back. At that point, your husband can file for a spousal visa (since you are already married), and if approved, you can come back through the spousal visa, and then adjust status the right way.

You could get married on the visit visa however this would be a misrepresentation as previous posters noted. You're better off applying for a fiance visa once you return home, theres less hassle and the wait times tend to be lower for a K1 then a K3 (which is what your boyfriend would need to apply for if you were to get married on your visit visa.).

Actually, the paperwork could be filed while here on a visit. It could even speed things up a bit. If you know what documents you need, ie.. birth certificate, previous divorce papers...., and bring them with you, this would save the time it takes to mail these off from Phil to US. You would still need to return once the visitor visa expires but, this would help minimize the time you would be seperated.

In the event you do get married while here and have to go the K-3 or CR-1 route, you will have to wait for the marriage certificate before filing these. The time for receiving the marriage certificate will vary depending on where you get married. Others that have gone through the Philipines can point you in the right direction as far as certain things required by the Philipine government as well. I have heard mention of needing permission from your government to be able to move here but I have no experience with this one.

I would suggest going to the Philipines regional section on here to gain more insight into what you will need from your government and other info that might help as well.

Getting married is no problem. Staying too long is the problem.

Right but wrong. Marriage doesn't extend the tourist visa or allow adjustment of status in this case but it's the allowed stay that expires, not the visa and only the virtually obsolete K3 visa requires a spouse to adjust status after entry. The preferred CR1 visa has the foreign spouse entering the US with (conditional) Permanent Resident status.

So, yes, it's possible to enter on the tourist visa and get married but you must leave the US before your allowed visit end date stamped on the I-94 given at entry.
