May AOS 2009 filers

So my husband and I recently filed for adjustment from F-1 to PR. Paperwork that was filed: I-130 packet, and the I-485 packet. We also included the I-765 and the I-131. I'm hoping to get the AP processed by July (fingers crossed). The EAD doesn't concern me as much, thought it will be nice to have the ability to work if I need to. A soon as I figure out how to use the signatures, I'll start keeping our timeline.

I am wondering if anyone has moved in the process of filing? and how this effects the process? My husband has recently been accepted to medical school in Michigan, and we will be needing to move sometime in July. Any information would be helpful, thank you.

Hope everything is going well with everyone.

Been reading the forums in this site and have found it extremely helpful.

I filed my AOS packet on May 04, 2009. There were a lot of things that I had to research and go through to figure out how to fill and file the forms. Since hiring a lawyer can get pretty pricey. I used an e-book that helped me step by step on what to fill in and what to prepare for the forms. In case anyone is interested, here's the link Nolo Marriage Visa . This site also provides other immigration cases and instructions. I found it extremely helpful, only cost $20 -ish instead of spending $2k for a lawyer. Hope this will help! Received NOA receipts for I-130, I-485, I-131, I-765!!

yey!

now I wonder how i need to send medical form...

will they send me some notice that i have to send and to where...???

One of my checks was cashed today (I-485). I wonder why only one of them was cashed yet we sent everything together.

As anyone else's checks been cashed separately?

Hi,guys and girls here,I have a good news that my EAD production was ordered by yesterday( 06/02),only 1 month form mailed out the packet,looks like things are moving along very fast,I'm so surprised with this but so happy B)

Is anybody here hired a lawyer? I hired and already pay and it's non refundable....it's so treky i consult them my case and let me pay, after that they sent the list of requirements which is not even complete good thing i found this site and its so helful and i am going to follow what is the list of requirements in VJ to give more tips of my lawyer if i can just get back my money im going to do this myself...i find out that everything is here you just have to follow and do your best....than sending your papers to the lawyer and stock to their office and have to wait when are they going to forward to the immigration....this immigration thing is a headache....ugggghhh!...but have to sacrifice i love my wife...

"this immigration thing is a headache....ugggghhh!" Tell me about it. I don't know about being a lawyer but i would say, be patient as you read through all the guides and forums, you will get all the info u need....trust me...I DID AND YOU TOO CAN DO IT.

Phew...got my 3 NOAs yesterday. I went online and created an account so now i can see all my cases online...Thank God and Thank you all VJ members. I am now waiting for my biometrics letter because i really want to do them early and get it out of the way.

I will be out of town then so I tried going early (Saturday, June 6) with my appointment letter, but the USCIS-Dallas North office won't take early walk-ins I noticed you have the same field office, are you going to the same ASC? Hope everything works out for you,please post if they take yours? Thanks!

Thank you BT78. My office is actually in Fort Worth so i don't know if they allow walk-ins. I'm scheduled for June 25 and i will try to go there this Friday, will keep you posted.
