From the same firm that published the data in the World's best places to live thread, comes this Top 50 ranking of cities with the best infrastructure.

Nine of the top 50 are American cities. The highest ranking American city is Atlanta, at number 15.

This year’s ranking also identifies the cities with the best infrastructure based on electricity supply, water availability, telephone and mail services, public transport provision, traffic congestion and the range of international flights from local airports.

Singapore is at the top of this index (score 109.1) followed by Munich in second place and Copenhagen in third. Japanese cities Tsukuba (4) and Yokohama (5) fill the next two slots, whilst Dusseldorf and Vancouver share sixth place. Baghdad ranks at the bottom of the table with a score of only 19.6.

I'm wondering what Glasgow is doing on the list...

It had to have done well on one or more of these factors:

electricity supply, water availability, telephone and mail services, public transport provision, traffic congestion and the range of international flights from local airports.

What BS! Atlanta has the second highest traffic congestion in the U.S., a limited water supply with a recent drought and a poor public transit system in MARTA. Only the airport could justify a high ranking due to it being the busiest airport in the world.

Seeing rankings by category would have been nice. I suspect the airport is what got them into the top 15.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Exactly. I don't see beer, fried Mars bars or Rab C Nesbitt anywhere on that list. Glasgow is an imposter!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

It's shocking to me that Atlanta, DC, Chitown, NYC, and Boston ALL rank higher than Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. Can you imagine how sh1tty those Australian cities must be... if NYC beats them in infrastructure?!?
