Dupont, I can understand your homesickness. Its tough and hard. But do you know that there have been people "stucK" here for much much longer then you? My wife for example. 6+ years she was not able to go home. She was Stuck here - waiting (those 4 years were not waiting for her green card though, but unable to travel.) All in the meantime she lost a couple of family members.

All in all, your situation is not very bad. Yes, you messed up and sent papers to the wrong place, and yes the immigration will make you pay for it. But, your situation is nothing compared to others here who have seen their papers messed up and have been waiting months/years for their paperwork to finish.

I'm not trying to scare you. I want you to see how your situation is not so bad.

So, take a breath and figure out what you really want. Do you want your citizenship? Or do you want to live back home?

I soo agree u should just go and fill out the correct forms. I was also "stuck" here with not one family member or friend - no husband.

You have the opportunity that alot of people wish they had but u sit down crying about being homesick ur family will still be there in a few months when u get this sorted out. Get proactive and start doing something

I never wanted to live here to begin with. My husband is in the middle of building a house, so we desided to live here, for now. I was perfectly happy in my own country, kind of came here against my will, if you know what I mean.

And it doesnt have anything to do with America, some people are just not meant to live in other countries.

What I understand from all this. Inorder to enjoy the freedom of America, you should first become a prisoner.

No. Please do not blame this on "America".

You sent the wrong forms to the wrong place with no fee and asked for a waiver you are not entitled to and wonder why nothing has happened. File the correct forms at the correct place with the correct fee and you will get this done. If you file the I-131 with the I-1485 there is no fee for the I-131 and if you indicate the date you want to travel they may be able to accomodate you. Download the correct forms and get them done tonight and in the mail tomorrow, what you sent before has been sucked into the black hole. And if you paid this agency any fee, get it back.

You would not know if we are entitled to that waiver, would you. My husband was in the US Army, and is now 40% disabled. And I will blame who ever I feel like blaming, I cant leave this country without an AP, now what if someone in my family is on death-bed and I really need to go? If you dont know the whole situation, dont bother with comments.,

Wooohaaa--- so you CAN be rude and demand understanding, but other people cannot point out the fact that YOU made a mistake that put you in this sticky situation??? Puh-leaze. If you dislike this country so, just leave. No one will stop you.

Did you read it all? Guess not, coz I did not make the mistake. Simply done Immigration did.

Not my fault. Not my fault. Not my fault..... uh, ok

As far as making dumb stuff; who do you think made the dumbest decision here???? Really.

Blame whomever you want. And again, if you want to leave; please do; by all means.

What is it with everyone trying to make dumb facts? My husband chose them, becoz the USCIS website suggested them....

I cannot find any such recommendation on the USCIS website, but there are a lot of websites that try to look official, and you may have been tricked by one.

Look, there are people here who are still willing to help you, but you need to calm down a little. Be mad at the USCIS, be mad at the Immigration firm you used, don't be mad at us.

I cant leave this country without an AP, now what if someone in my family is on death-bed and I really need to go?

If you have a family emergency, you can make an infopass appointment and get an AP in a short period of time, if you have filed the AOS forms.

If you dont know the whole situation, dont bother with comments.,

You haven't told us the whole situation, and that's part of the problem. So, perhaps you should tell us the whole situation if you want help? In particular, exactly what forms did you submit? When you read them, did they make sense?

Having myself been all over the Philipines, I'd say you are acting the complete opposite of Philipino Culture. Frankly I'm shocked.

But again, it all comes down to is. What do you really want? What is most important to you? It sounds like you just want to go home. Enjoy!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
