Whatever you do, don't do what I did... think you proof read them good enough, only to find out well after your NOA2 approval and while flipping through your file... that you have sent them a steamy email with some dirties :innocent:

Maybe that's what got me approved

Same here, poprocks! But at the end of the day, I also figured it could only help us.

Hello, FutureMrsDisney!! John and I submitted just a few emails that mentioned events and other pertinent info - like him telling me about preparations for his trip to SoCal for Thanksgiving, how well I get on with his mom when we talk on the phone, etc. - and me telling him how my mom couldn't wait to have him back home, how she was planning to cook all his favorite things, etc. We thought this would help establish that A) we had a bonifide relationship, and B) we were building bonified relationships with each other's families.

This topic seems to be well answered, but just wanted to add that all I had was phone records and a screen shot of IMs over a several month time period (after I figured out how to save them in the archives). Oh, also a couple letters of snail mail with envelopes back and forth. We didn't really email each other that much, we did a lot of text messaging and phone calls. So as long as you have communication and can prove some form of communication you should be fine.

Do be very careful about your non-legal ceremony. I would not include any photos or information about this ceremony...especially if you have plenty of on-going proof already. Wear no rings and do not speak about each other as 'husband/wife'. Although some people do this with no problems, we have had lots of horror stories here on VJ when couples have tried this as well.

thats fine, if it has a huge diamond on it then don't include it because it will look like a wedding ring.... try to keep things as simple as possible,

I am not sure what you mean. Unless I've messed up, my engagement ring that I've purchased for my fiancee was a little over 1kt. I thought the engagement ring is the one with the bigger diamond?!?!

Unless I am mistaken, wedding ring/band usually are less expensive than the engagement ring?!?! If wearing a diamond engagement ring is a no no, then I better tell my fiancee before the interview.

Thanks in advance!

I agree...I always thought the engagement ring was the one with the big diamond, and the wedding rings are simpler... It may depend on certain traditions/cultures though.. who knows. I'd maybe just specify that it is an engagement ring if they ask.

ok, if the ring in your opinion looks like a wedding ring, then don't include it....

I've read on previous topics that exchanged e-mails are good for proof of ongoing relationship. I'm wondering how I should pick them? Can I just pick random e-mails from the both of us or whatever e-mails I include should have a "time line"? For example: if I add one e-mail from him, the e-mail from me should be an answer to that e-mail of his? I'm confused. I'm sorry if I don't sound very clear.

I picked random e-mails. I added 3 from him, one from 2007, one from 2008 and one from 2009. From me I picked 4, from 2006 to 2009. Should that be ok? Please tell me how you guys did it. I'm afraid I will get an RFE if that doesn't sound very consistent to them.

4-17-2009 sent K1 Petition

5-1-2009 USCIS received petition

5-4-2009 received NOA1 notice

8-4-2009 NVC sent petition to Manila

9-22-2009 Medical Exam (scar on lungs) will have sputum test done

I was wondering about e-mails and instant messages. I did like you and picked a few random e-mails plus I created a listing of all the e-mails and printed them off. That way USCIS can see all the e-mails over time with some samples. I did the same for the instant messages. I hope I did it right.

I picked them random, the consular officer asked to see them during my interview, even when we included a lot of emails in the original petition.

I didn't include messenger conversations, I had phone bills copies too in case the CO asked for it.
